Abstract: A method, device, and system for establishing a group call among a plurality of communication devices. The method includes initiating a group call among at least some of the plurality of communication devices, wherein each communication device uses a unicast communication link to participate in the group call. The method further includes computing one or more broadcast or multicast parameters during the group call, identifying a subset of communication devices based on the broadcast or multicast parameters, and switching the identified subset of communications devices to a broadcast or multicast communication link during the group call.

Abstract: Methods for reducing sensor support power in a sensor network include a primary node locating a secondary node. The primary node has a primary node sensor profile, and the secondary node has a secondary node sensor profile. The secondary node sensor profile is compared to the primary node sensor profile. A virtual sensor profile is constructed based on the comparison between the primary and secondary sensor profiles. The virtual sensor profile reduces redundant sensor data gathering between the primary and secondary sensor nodes. A power consumption optimization hardware configuration for the secondary node is determined to provide sensor data for the virtual sensor profile, and the determined hardware configuration is assigned to the secondary node.

Abstract: There are disclosed methods of a wireless communication device and a wireless base station. The device is served by a serving base station and receives from a neighbor base station a downlink transmission including a broadcast signal. The device decodes the broadcast signal, and determines a bandwidth attribute associated with the neighbor base station based on the broadcast signal. The device then sends to the serving base station a report including the bandwidth attribute associated with the neighbor base station. The wireless base station receives from a first wireless terminal a signal including a bandwidth attribute associated with a neighbor base station. The base station then schedules a second wireless terminal based on the bandwidth attribute of the neighbor base station, in which the first wireless terminal may be identical to the second wireless terminal.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods of user interfaces of electronic devices having a displays configured to annunciate wallpaper images wherein a wallpaper image includes image data. Image data can be characterized, for example, by the luminance levels of pixels of the image and/or the power needed to display the image. An image characteristic threshold is related to current drain impact, for example, in terms of luminance and/or power needed to display an image. A disclosed method can include receiving the image data of the wallpaper image and determining whether the image characteristic of the image data (such as luminance level at a given percentile) exceeds the image characteristic threshold. A disclosed method can further provide generating a user interface notification relating to the image characteristic exceeding the image characteristic threshold and relating to the current drain impact of displaying the image as wallpaper.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to transmission of user data over multiple transmission layers in a wireless communication system with single-carrier orthogonal frequency division multiple access. A wireless terminal performs transform precoding on a vector of digital modulation symbols and the resulting complex-valued symbols are mapped to frequency/time/space resources. The digital modulation symbols are reordered, modified by a setting of complex-valued functions, and transform precoded. The resulting second set of complex-valued symbols are transform precoded and mapped to frequency/time/space resources.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for key revocation in an attribute-based encryption scheme is provided herein. Prior to operation, a key management service performs a randomized setup algorithm resulting in the generation of public parameters and the key management service's master secret, MK. During operation, the key management service is provided with verified user attribute information. The key management service creates keys for users based on their list of attributes. The keys can then be used to decode appropriate ciphertext. During the key creation, each attribute is associated with a particular text string. As attributes are revoked, the text string is updated.

Abstract: A rotary control assembly (200) for a handheld two-way radio (100) provides improved tactile feedback in the form of clicks, even during gloved usage. Assembly (200) includes a housing having a large control knob (108), a rotary switch control (202) having a shaft (204), a shaft extender (206) having a toothed gear element (210), and a ball plunger (302). Abstract: Disclosed is a method whereby content-consumption information is gathered from members of a group. Based on the gathered information, a shared social program guide is created and presented to the member of the group. Group members interact with the shared social program guide to recommend and eventually to select content to consume. The selected content is then rendered to the content-consumption devices of the group members. The rendering is done in a coordinated fashion. To enhance social interaction, the shared social program guide can tell a viewer which other group members are currently available for consuming content. A communication channel can be set up among the group members to coordinate their choices or to allow them to discuss the content being viewed. In some embodiments, the shared social program guide accepts commands that alter the rendering of the chosen content. The altered rendering is coordinated among the viewers.

Abstract: A communication system comprises a communication node for scheduling uplink and downlink transmissions in a communication system. The communication node determines based on a first set of parameters of a data associated with the communication node and a second set of parameters of a data associated with one other communication node, whether to load the data associated with the communication node from an end of a data queue buffer. The communication node upon determining to load the data associated with the communication node from the end of the data queue buffer, loads the data associated with the communication node from the end of the data queue buffer. The communication node further determines a start time for transmission of the data associated with the communication node and schedules transmission of the data associated with the communication node at the start time.
