Abstract: This invention relates to the field of materials of the photorefractive crystal. The composition of these crystals is Li1−xNb1+yO3: Fem, Mn, where M can be magnesium, indium, or zinc; when using q to denote the ion valence of M (q=2 when M is Mg or Zn, and q=3 when M is In), the values of x, y, m, and n are in the range of 0.05≦x≦0.13, 0.00≦y≦0.01, 5.0×10−5≦m≦7.5×10−4, and 0.02≦qn≦0.13. This invention greatly improves the photorefractive properties of LiNbO3 crystals: makes it have a high diffraction efficiency (more than 68%), a fast response speed for photorefraction (an order of magnitude faster than iron doped LiNbO3), and a high resistance to optical scattering (the light intensity threshold to photorefractive fan scattering near two orders of magnitude larger than LiNbO3: Fe). This invention is an excellent three-dimensional optical storage material and has a vast potential market.

  • Patent number: 6262172
Abstract: A method for preparing a carbonized resin DNA immunoadsorbent, which uses styrene, acrylonitrile, divinylbenzene, toluene, liquid paraffin, benzoyl peroxide and water solution of polyvinyl alcohol as raw materials, produces a DNA immunoadsorbent with 0.3-0.5 mg DNA per milliliter of resin using two-staged procedures for preparation of first carbonized resin, and secondly carbonized resin DNA immunoadsorbent. The resultant immunoadsorbent is high in adsorbent capacity, low in production cost, and can be synthesized without pyrogens. It therefore satisfies the demands of medical application for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus by immunoadsorption.

  • Patent number: 6051047
Abstract: The present invention relates to the preparation of Nd--Fe--B permanent magnetic alloys and more particularly to a process of preparing Nd--Fe--B permanent magnetic alloys with neodymium, iron and boron as their basic constituents, wherein ammonium hydroxide (concentrated ammonia water) and ammonium carbonate are used as the precipitant, and neodymium salts, ferrous salts and soluble boron compounds as the starting materials for alloy elements such as neodymium, iron and boron, in addition, machining surplus or wastes of Nd--Fe--B alloys can also be used as raw materials so as to avoid the use of expensive rare earth metal. The process of the present invention comprises the steps of co-precipitation, hydrogen pre-reduction, calcium reduction-diffusion, rinsing, drying and powder manufacturing etc. and is capable of significantly reducing the costs compared with any of the existing processes.

  • Patent number: 5576118
Abstract: This invention relates to a hydrogen storage alloy electrode prepared from an active material comprising a magnesium based alloy and a Ni, P based metallic compound. The magnesium based alloy is coated while in powder form with a Ni, P based metallic compound and activated by heat. The hydrogen storage alloy electrode produced from this active material is able to absorb and desorb hydrogen even under normal temperature and pressure. The alkali battery assembled with the electrode prepared from the activated alloy material has high energy density and charge-discharge capacity and can be used in large scale electrical equipment, especially electrically operated vehicles.

  • Patent number: 5434019
Abstract: This invention relates to a nickel-hydride alkaline battery. In the battery, both negative and positive electrodes use an electrode plate with a net structure to solve the problems of high internal resistance, current collecting and heat releasing. The battery can be used practically as a starting and driving power for electric automobiles.
