  • Patent number: 11328565
Abstract: An asset is identified in a predefined area. The type of asset is identified through video or wireless tag identification. A security policy associated with the type of asset is obtained. Entries in an asset log are recorded based on a location of the asset, an individual handling the asset, and/or actions taken by an individual with respect to the asset based on the security policy. A real-time notification is sent when the location, the handling, and/or any of the actions warrant a notification based on the security policy.

  • Patent number: 11321655
Abstract: Individuals are monitored for actions and behaviors of the individuals during performance of establishment processes through video feeds captured by cameras. Transaction information associated with transactions being processed by a transaction system of the establishment are monitored. The actions, behaviors, transaction information, and establishment processes are correlated to process controls of the establishment and logged in an audit log. Non-compliant actions, behaviors, or transaction information with respect to the process controls generate real-time alerts, real-time assistance for compliance by any offending individual, and/or remedial training for compliance of the offending individual.

  • Patent number: 11316846
Abstract: A device is configured for dynamically obtaining updated hash values for certificate processing of endpoints from a dedicated and single server. The server's certificate is signed by a certificate authority that is the sole and root authority for the certificate processing on the device. When endpoints are connected to the device, the hash values are compared against computed hash values for the endpoints' certificates. Connections are deemed secure for the device when the computed hash values match the hash values provided by the server.

  • Patent number: 11308471
Abstract: A media terminal includes two integrated currency devices, each device providing at least one feature/operation that is similar to or is the same as the other device. Two independent sessions to each device are made and presented to a transaction application of the terminal as a single aggregated session. When the transaction application issues a command through the single aggregated session, a decision is made that is transparent to the application as to which device should process the command on behalf of the application and the command is issued to the selected device over the corresponding independent session. Results or notifications provided by the selected device are aggregated and provided to the application over the single aggregated session. In an embodiment, the two integrated currency devices are different types of devices from one another.

  • Patent number: 11301090
Abstract: A touch field is created around a touchscreen display, the field is in front of a touch surface of the display and the field maps to locations on the display. An operator of a terminal during a transaction is presented with transaction interface screens that are visually rendered on the display. The operator makes interface options selections, performs screen navigation, and provides date entry field inputs by placing the operator's hand within the field without touching the touch surface of the display and making hand poses, hand movements, and/or hand gestures. The poses, movements, and/or gestures are translated into touch actions and touch inputs recognized by the transaction interface and processed as operator-provided input during the transaction.

  • Patent number: 11301893
Abstract: A presence of a consumer transacting at a transaction terminal is detected. Content for the transaction terminal is played as media on the transaction terminal. When an identity of the consumer is resolved, the content is switched to new content that is targeted/customized to the consumer and is played as new media on the transaction terminal. When a transaction concludes, the media play is stopped. Statistics for the transaction and media play are retained for tracking and reporting.

  • Patent number: 11294693
Abstract: A virtualized transaction terminal platform is provided. A transaction terminal is configured as a thin-client terminal. A virtualized transaction terminal (Virtual Machine (VM)) is instantiated remotely on a cloud or a server over a network connection. Peripherals connected to the thin-client terminal are mapped to virtual peripheral device drivers on the cloud or the server. Physical peripherals connected to the thin-client terminal are mapped inside the VM to the corresponding virtual peripheral device drivers. As transactions are initiated and physical peripherals are operated at the thin-client terminal, the transactions are processed by the VM and inputs/outputs from the physical peripherals are forwarded for processing by the corresponding virtual peripheral device drivers. A remote desktop (RD) agent on the thin-client terminal keeps states of the VM and virtual peripheral device drivers in synchronization with a peripheral display of the thin-client terminal.

  • Patent number: 11295319
Abstract: A system and method is described for detecting a foreign object such as a skimmer placed adjacent to a bezel for a magnetic card reader device, as used in automatic teller machines and gas pumps. At least two sensors are mounted adjacent to the bezel. Each sensor provides a signal that varies when a skimmer is mounted adjacent to the bezel. A controller receive measurement signals from the sensors, and generates an alarm signal when the measurement signals differ from associated predetermined baseline signals by at least associated predetermined thresholds. The alarm signal indicates that a foreign object has been detected adjacent the bezel. The sensors may be capacitive, time of flight, spectral, radar, and/or inductive. The capacitive sensors may include three or more plates, forming multiple capacitive pairs, each capacitive pair effectively forming a separate sensor.

  • Patent number: 11275769
Abstract: One method embodiment includes receiving a transaction dataset including data representative of transactions including data representative of at least one product purchased within the respective transactions. This method then processes the dataset according to a contextualizing algorithm to generate a data representation for at least some products included in transactions of the transaction dataset. Each generated data representation represents a context of a product with regard to each of the other products of the data representation. This method further includes processing the generated data representations according to a clustering algorithm to partition products represented by the generated data representations into a number of product clusters. A data representation of the product clusters may then be stored including data identifying products and the product clusters to which they are partitioned.

  • Patent number: 11275916
Abstract: Processor utilization for a combined transaction terminal and scanner device is controlled during item code image capture, item code reading, and/or read item code communications. Item image capture rates, item image frame reads, and read item code communications are controlled to override preconfigured processing and to reduce processor utilization on the device. This frees up processor capacity for performing other operations during transactions on the device.

  • Patent number: 11270090
Abstract: Various embodiments herein each include at least one of systems, methods, devices, barcode scanners, and software for variable depth of field scanning and lighting devices and methods. One such embodiment includes adjusting variable lenses on each of a plurality of barcode scanner scan-field lighting elements to a first depth of field and capturing a number of first images with a camera of a barcode scanner at the first depth of field. The method of this embodiment then outputs at least one of the number of the first images to a barcode reading process. This example method may then continue by adjusting the variable lenses of each of the plurality of barcode scanner scan-field lighting elements to a second depth of field, capturing a number of second images with the camera of the barcode scanner at the second depth of field, and then outputting at least one of the number of the second images to the barcode reading process.
