  • Patent number: 11057377
Abstract: A biometric token is generated for a user and provided to a user-operated device. A pre-staged transaction is defined by a user and the user supplies the token for association with the pre-staged transaction. Subsequently, a user visits a transaction terminal and a new candidate token is generated from biometric attributes of the user. The candidate token is matched to the token associated with pre-staged transaction to authenticate the user and the pre-staged transaction is processed at the transaction terminal as a completed transaction.

  • Patent number: 11054983
Abstract: A touch-based gesture interface is provided. An initial point of contact for a touch made on a touch-screen surface is associated with a reference value. If the initial contact is sustained before release, directional axis changes for the touch are noted until the contact is released to identify a gesture-based touch input. The directional axis changes associated with the gesture-based touch input are translated into a key entry based on the directional axis changes made relative to the reference value. If the initial contact is released with no directional axis movement/changes, the key entry is assigned to the reference value for the gesture-based touch input. In an embodiment, two successive touches with no directional axis movement/changes made within a threshold period of time is identified as a cancel key.

  • Patent number: 11057685
Abstract: Methods and a System are provided for proving media content was played on a display through capturing of audit information presented in watermarks when the content is played on the display. In a method, content watermarks are generated for content that is to be rendered on a display of a display device. An image sensor that is externally affixed to a corner of the display captures the watermarks as the content is rendered on the display, the image sensor captures the watermarks being played with the content from the area associated the corner where the image sensor is affixed. The image sensor captures the watermarks as images and streams the images back to the display device for storage. The stored watermarks are processed to verify that the corresponding content associated with the watermarks was played by the display device (visually rendered on the display of the display device).

  • Patent number: 11044332
Abstract: A pattern of user activity is discovered and linked to a network service. The pattern is populated with information relevant to an expected activity of the user, and the populated pattern is provided in an automated message to the user. When the user accepts the message, the expected activity is performed on behalf of the user by the network service with the populated information or the expected activity is automatically scheduled for future performance on behalf of the user by the network service with the populated information.

  • Patent number: 11037412
Abstract: A transaction terminal includes a vertically integrated bagging weigh scale and a vertically integrated scanner. The scale includes two posts that extend horizontally out from the terminal and upon which a bag hangs. Items placed in the bag cause displacement of the posts and/or pressure detected on the posts resulting in a recorded weight by a weight sensor of the scale. A current recorded weight of the bag is reported from the scale to the terminal during a transaction as each item is placed into the bag. The terminal uses the item weights to record prices for those items sold by weight and to verify that items scanned by the scanner and placed in the bag have expected weights for those items.

  • Patent number: 11035997
Abstract: A light-emitting indicator can include a molded, transparent housing formed with a central area shaped as a square that extends in a plane. A plurality of light emitting diodes, optionally formed integrally with the housing, can be positioned along edges of a square that surrounds the central area. The light emitting diodes can emit light to propagate inside the housing toward the central area. A light guide, optionally formed integrally with the housing, can be positioned in a peripheral area shaped to include an area between two concentric squares that surround the central area. The light guide can direct the emitted light out of the plane. Control circuitry can be positioned along the edges of the square that includes the light emitting diodes. The control circuitry can cause the light emitting diodes to blink at a specified frequency, which can draw the attention of a user.

  • Patent number: 11032523
Abstract: Software executing on a mobile device collects custom metadata for an image taken by a camera of a mobile device. The image with the custom metadata is sent from the software to an external network service. The external network service processes the custom metadata to at least determine a physical location of the image. In an embodiment, the physical location is used to uniquely identify the image and perform an automated transaction on behalf of a user that operates the mobile device.
