Abstract: A liquid crystal display device employing an AC driving method is provided which is capable of minimizing a period of time during which a difference in magnitude between a positive voltage and a negative voltage relative to an intermediate potential occurs in gray-level reference voltages making up AC driving voltages when AC voltages are changed during operations of the liquid crystal display device by selecting an optimized order of outputting the gray-level reference voltages generated by a sequential switching method. An output switching control section is provided in a gray-level reference voltage generating section which outputs, at a time of changing the gray-level reference voltages during operations of the device, the gray-level reference voltage to a source driver in an order being different from an order of having received the gray-level reference voltage input from a same output voltage setting section after being sequentially switched.

  • Patent number: 7341151
Abstract: An LCD module covered a protective film and stored in a vinyl bag is held by cushioning material, and the cushioning material is placed in a box. A plurality of grooves are formed in a mutually parallel fashion on the lower and upper members of the cushioning material. The grooves form a supporting portion for supporting the edges of LCD modules that are fitted in the grooves. The depth of the grooves is slightly less than the width of the frame area of the LCD modules. An upwardly protruding convexity is formed in the area between the grooves and on both sides of the rows comprising the plurality of grooves. The convexity is a pop-out prevention portion for preventing LCD modules from popping out from the cushioning material during transport. Soiling can thereby be prevented from occurring on the display area of the display modules.

  • Publication number: 20080049177
Abstract: A semi-transmissive type liquid-crystal display device suppresses the reduction and corrosion of the transmission or common electrode due to the cell corrosion reaction with a simple method. In each pixel region, the reflection electrode is formed over the glass plate, where the interlayer insulating film and the barrier metal film intervene between them. The reflection electrode is electrically connected to the transmission electrode by way of the barrier metal film. The transmission electrode and the corresponding scanning line thereto are apart from each other at a distance of 2 ?m (preferably, 3 ?m) or greater. A developer solution penetrating through the crack formed in the barrier metal film does not reach the transmission electrode (or common electrode), preventing the reduction and corrosion of the transmission or common electrode.

  • Publication number: 20080048765
Abstract: A power supply circuit is provided which is capable of preventing a drop in an output voltage of the power supply circuit used as a DC/DC converter made up of single and conductive type (n-type or p-type) MOS transistors and of improving efficiency. Since a control voltage having an amplitude [2×VDD] is applied from a level shift circuit to a charge-pump circuit, even when potentials at nodes becomes a level [2×VDD], pMOS transistors are kept in an OFF state, thereby preventing leakage of currents from pMOS transistors. This avoids a drop in an DC output voltage. As inputs to the level shift circuits, potentials at nodes of the charge-pump circuit are used and, therefore, even if potentials at nodes of the level shift circuits are high, pMOS transistors are kept in an OFF state.
