  • Patent number: 11031781
Abstract: Methods for implementing power delivery transactions between a buyer and a seller of electrical energy supplied to an electrical grid by an integrated renewable energy source (RES) and energy storage system (ESS) of a RES-ESS facility are provided. Estimated total potential output of the RES is compared to a point of grid interconnect (POGI) limit to identify potential RES overgeneration, and the buyer is charged if potential RES overgeneration is less than potential overgeneration during one or more retrospective time windows. The method provides a basis for the RES-ESS facility owner to be paid for an estimated amount of energy that did not get stored as a result of a grid operator not fully discharging an ESS prior to the start of a new day.

  • Patent number: 11012088
Abstract: A first value of a first data element in a first set of data elements is obtained, the first set of data elements being based on a first time sample of a signal. A second value of a second data element in a second set of data elements is obtained, the second set of data elements being based on a second, later time sample of the signal. A measure of similarity is derived between the first value and the second value. Based on the derived measure, a quantisation parameter useable in performing quantisation on data based on the first time sample of the signal is determined. Output data is generated using the quantisation parameter.

  • Patent number: 10993318
Abstract: A flexible polymeric film includes a reinforcement layer and a base layer. The reinforcement layer includes a lamella and a plurality of columns. The columns are on a surface of the lamella. Each of the columns extends in a direction and is separated from a neighboring column by a gap. The base layer is coupled to the columns and portions of the surface of the lamella in the gaps between the columns. The base layer is less rigid than the reinforcement layer. The flexible polymeric film can be produced by spraying a precursor onto a substrate. A layer of the precursor is formed on the substrate and exposed to an energy beam to form a preliminary film on the substrate. The columns can be formed from a plurality of portions of the preliminary film. The lamella is formed on top of the preliminary film that is formed with the columns.

  • Publication number: 20210116359
Abstract: A method and system are presented for use in measuring on patterned samples, aimed at determining asymmetry in the pattern. A set of at least first and second measurements on a patterned region of a sample is performed, where each of the measurements comprises: directing illuminating light onto the patterned region along an illumination channel and collecting light reflected from the illuminated region propagating along a collection channel to be detected, such that detected light from the same patterned region has different polarization states which are different from polarization of the illuminating light, and generating a measured data piece indicative of the light detected in the measurement. Thus, at least first and second measured data pieces are generated for the at least first and second measurements on the same patterned region. The at least first and second measured data pieces are analyzed and output data is generated being indicative of a condition of asymmetry in the patterned region.
