Abstract: The Application of equations of state to experimental and literature data permits the formation of a model and phase diagram(s) that show under what conditions polyethylene is likely to precipitate out of a high pressure solution of polyethylene in supercritical ethylene. This then permits a better definition to run a high pressure reactor to reduce the likelihood of phase separation, loss of cooling and potentially decomposition of the reactor contents.

Abstract: A new and distinct Bergenia plant characterized by a vigorous, miniature habit, clean, shiny green late spring to summer foliage, numerous short inflorescences, large, deep pink flowers in a very showy spring display, and clean, shiny and almost black winter leaves.
Abstract: A new and distinct form of Veronica plant characterized by warm pink flowers in free flowering spikes, with some rebloom in late summer, a compact, slow spreading, low mounding habit, excellent dense branching with flower spikes at end of every branch, medium green leaves, excellent vigor, and good garden performance.
Abstract: A new and distinct form of Agastache plant characterized by light yellow orange flowers in large inflorescences, a long bloom time, a short, compact habit, good winter hardiness, and excellent vigor.
Abstract: A phosphinimine catalyst immobilized on a passivated inorganic oxide support, had high activity at low co-catalyst concentrations and gave, under gas phase polymerization conditions, ethylene copolymer with a high molecular weight. A method of making a passivated silica support involves treatment of silica with an organoaluminum compound, a diorganomagnesium compound and a source of chloride (to make MgCl2) under anhydrous conditions and in the absence of polar solvents.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for detecting surface motion of an object subject to ultrasound are disclosed. The method comprises generating a laser beam, dividing the laser beam into a reference beam and an object beam to be directed onto the surface, thereby producing a scattered object beam, introducing a small-amplitude modulation in the optical path difference between the reference beam and the scattered object beam, detecting the interference between the scattered object beam and the phase modulated reference beam using a plurality of detecting elements to generate a plurality of electrical interference signals, wherein the electrical interference signals each comprise a wanted signal component indicative of the surface motion and a noise signal component, and processing the electrical interference signals to determine the surface motion of the object.
Abstract: A plasma source for generating nonlinear, wide-band, periodic, directed, elastic oscillations in a fluid medium. The plasma source includes a plasma emitter having two electrodes defining a gap, a delivery device for introducing a metal conductor into the gap, and a high voltage transformer for powering the plasma emitter. A system and method for stimulating wells, deposits, and boreholes through controlled periodic oscillations generated using the plasma source. The system includes the plasma source, a ground control unit, and a support cable. In the method, the plasma source is submerged in the fluid medium of a well, deposit, or borehole and is used to create a metallic plasma in the gap. The metallic plasma emits a pressure pulse and shockwaves, which are directed into the fluid medium. Nonlinear, wide-band, periodic and elastic oscillations are generated in the fluid medium, including resonant oscillations by passage of the shockwaves.
