  • Patent number: 9184102
Abstract: A method and system are presented for determining a line profile in a patterned structure, aimed at controlling a process of manufacture of the structure. The patterned structure comprises a plurality of different layers, the pattern in the structure being formed by patterned regions and un-patterned regions. At least first and second measurements are carried out, each utilizing illumination of the structure with a broad wavelengths band of incident light directed on the structure at a certain angle of incidence, detection of spectral characteristics of light returned from the structure, and generation of measured data representative thereof. The measured data obtained with the first measurement is analyzed, and at least one parameter of the structure is thereby determined. Then, this determined parameter is utilized, while analyzing the measured data obtained with the second measurements enabling the determination of the profile of the structure.

  • Publication number: 20150299448
Abstract: Polyethylene is often stabilized with the combination of a primary antioxidant (such as a hindered phenol, a hydroxylamine or a lactone) and a secondary antioxidant (such as a phosphonite, a monophosphite, or a diphosphite). The diphosphite additives are not completely compatible with “linear” polyethylene. This results in “blooming” of the diphosphite to the surface of the finished polyethylene part or polyethylene film. The use of a preblend of ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) and diphosphite mitigates this problem.

  • Publication number: 20150284303
Abstract: A continuous flow process for the oligomerization of ethylene using a chromium catalyst having a phosphorus-nitrogen-phosphorus (“P—N—P”) ligand provides high selectivity to the desired tetramer (1-octene) with reduced production of coproduct C10+ oligomers. Prior art processes that maximize catalyst activity have provided comparatively poor product selectivity. In particular, the production of larger amounts of C10+ oligomers have been observed under conditions that maximize activity. The present process resolves this problem through the use of a combination of low catalyst concentration and by limiting the octene concentration in the reactor.

  • Patent number: 9149208
Abstract: A device for assessing the spinal column intends to assess the lateral curvatures and deviations in the spinal column, in a standing position. It can be a non-invasive instrument that allows reproducing the position of each vertebra in the spinal column, from the first cervical vertebra to the first sacral vertebra. The device can include or consist of two parts: a first part designated as body and a second part defined as support. The first part can include or can consist of a vertical piece (that fits in the support) and several horizontal pieces. Each horizontal piece will touch the spinal crest of each vertebra in the spinal column, from the first cervical vertebra to the first sacral vertebra. The support can include or can consist of two pieces: a vertical piece, wherein the instrument's body vertical piece is fitted and a base whereon the feet of the patient under assessment are placed.

  • Patent number: 9140544
Abstract: An optical system is presented for use in measuring in patterned structures having vias. The optical system comprises an illumination channel for propagating illuminated light onto the structure being measured; a detection channel for collecting light returned from the illuminated structure to a detection unit; and an attenuation assembly accommodated in the illumination and detection channels and being configured and operable for selectively attenuating light propagating along the detection channel, the attenuation creating a predetermined condition for the selectively attenuated light, said predetermined condition being defined by a predetermined ratio between a first light portion corresponding to a dark field condition and a second light portion corresponding to a bright field condition in said selectively attenuated light, detected selectively attenuated light being therefore indicative of at least one parameter of the via being illuminated.

  • Publication number: 20150260632
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention provide components for a serpentine fluid reactor which is optimized for one or more objective functions of interest such as pressure drop, erosion rate, fouling, coke deposition and operating costs. The components are designed by computer modeling the components individually and collectively in which the cross section of flow path is substantially circular under industrial conditions to validate the model design and its operation. Then iteratively the component designs are deformed and the operation of the deformed part(s) is modeled and compared to values obtained with other deformed models until the value of the objective function is optimized (e.g. at an extreme) or the change in the objective function is approaching zero.
