Abstract: The invention provides compositions including epinephrine nanoparticles and methods for therapeutic use of the compositions in the treatment of conditions responsive to epinephrine such as a cardiac event or an allergic reaction, particularly anaphylaxis. The epinephrine nanoparticles can be incorporated into orally-disintegrating and fast-disintegrating tablet pharmaceutical formulations and can significantly increase the sublingual bioavailability of epinephrine, and thereby reduce the epinephrine dose required. Additionally, the invention provides methods for fabrication of stabilized epinephrine nanoparticles for use in the described compositions.

Abstract: A new and distinct hybrid of Sedum plant substantially as shown and described, characterized by medium oblong dark brown leaves with entire margins, high crown count, short stems of dark maroon, a low, clumping habit, and excellent vigor.
Abstract: A new and distinct hybrid of Sedum plant substantially as shown and described, with creamy yellow flowers in large inflorescences, blue green leaves, strong rose pink stems, rust red carpels when the seed is developing, a dense, low, mounding habit, and excellent vigor.
Abstract: A method for altering the polymer architecture of ethylene copolymers made with a supported phosphinimine polymerization catalyst. The method involves changing the amount of a catalyst modifier added to a reactor separately from or together with a supported phosphinimine polymerization catalyst.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for treating materials containing a mixture of plastic materials and metal materials, said method including: —crushing the material to be treated; pyrolysis of the crushed material; a first magnetic separation performed on the pyrolysed material providing, on the one hand, a ferrous metal fraction and, on the other hand, non-ferrous residue; —a second magnetic separation performed on the non-ferrous residue providing, on the one hand, a non-ferrous metal fraction and, on the other hand, non-magnetic residue. The invention also relates to a facility for implementing said method.

Abstract: A supported catalyst system comprising a phosphinimine ligand containing catalyst on a porous inorganic support treated with a metal salt has improved reactor continuity in a dispersed phase reaction in terms of initial activation and subsequent deactivation. The resulting catalyst has a lower consumption of ethylene during initiation and a lower rate of deactivation. Preferably the catalyst is used with an antistatic agent.

Abstract: A coin counter is provided for push-pull coin vending machines, arcade machines and pay-per-use appliances. The counter comprises a bracket assembly having first and second chambers. The first chamber for receiving, processing and expelling a coin, and the second chamber having a switch assembly which is interactive with the coins moving through the first chamber by means of an actuator arm so as to register counts on a connected numeric display. The counter further comprises a stop which receives the weight of the coins processed through the machine and also redirects the coins, allowing the actuator arm to rotate in a reduced arc than the prior art.
Abstract: A method for admitting applicants into an academic institution can include the steps of: compiling a list of standardized test takers who have applied for admission to at least one academic institution, but have not received an offer of admission to any one of the at least one academic institutions; conditionally admitting selected ones of the test takers to an abbreviated academic program; subjecting the conditionally admitted test takers to at least one examination during the abbreviated academic program, each conditionally admitted test taker achieving a score on the at least one examination; and, admitting into the academic institution those conditionally admitted test takers who achieve a score on said at least one examination which satisfies an admissions criteria.
Abstract: The efficiency of heat transfer to a furnace tube or coil in a furnace for cracking ethane, propane or naphtha feedstocks, or a mixture thereof may be improved by providing protuberances on the surface of the tube or coil having i) a maximum height from 3 to 15% of the coil outer diameter, ii) a contact surface with a coil, or a base, which area is 0.1%-10% of the coil external cross section area, and iii) a geometrical shape which has a relatively large external surface containing a relatively small volume.
Abstract: Coextruded multilayer blown films are produced comprising: a core layer comprising at least one random polypropylene copolymer; at least one skin or intermediate layer adjacent to said core layer; wherein the coextruded multilayer film has at least about 30% higher machine direction tear, at least about 30% improved tear ratio (machine direction tear divided by transverse direction tear) and at least about 10% lower film haze, relative to a similar multilayer film comprising at least one impact polypropylene copolymer in the core layer.
