Abstract: An optical system is presented for use in measuring in patterned structures having vias. The optical system comprises an illumination channel for propagating illuminated light onto the structure being measured; a detection channel for collecting light returned from the illuminated structure to a detection unit; and an attenuation assembly accommodated in the illumination and detection channels and being configured and operable for selectively attenuating light propagating along the detection channel, the attenuation creating a predetermined condition for the selectively attenuated light, said predetermined condition being defined by a predetermined ratio between a first light portion corresponding to a dark field condition and a second light portion corresponding to a bright field condition in said selectively attenuated light, detected selectively attenuated light being therefore indicative of at least one parameter of the via being illuminated.

Abstract: In the high pressure of polymerization of ethylene homopolymer or copolymers conditions in the reactor may become unstable leading to the decomposition (“decomp”) of the reaction mixture. Monitoring temperature excursions traveling through the reactor over close thermocouples (a roller) to detect changes in the mean temperature and the moving temperature front for a group of thermocouples detects conditions potentially leading to a decomp.

Abstract: A system for providing granular functionality called web services to commercial customers includes a web server configured to accept service requests from software application clients, functional implementations of the services, and a means of accounting for usage. The service grid architecture makes practical a reliable commercial provider of web services in the face of unreliable sources of functional implementations. This is accomplished through the commoditization of multiple implementation sources per service, standard forms for each service to which a plurality of sources is adapted, and a rules based approach to source selection per service call.

Abstract: Methods for dramatically altering the processability of ethylene copolymers made with a supported phosphinimine polymerization catalyst. The method involves changing the polymerization reactor temperature during the polymerization of ethylene and a least one alpha-olefin when a phosphinimine catalyst which comprises a substituted or unsubstituted indenyl ligand and a phosphinimine type ligand.

Abstract: The Application of equations of state to experimental and literature data permits the formation of a model and phase diagram(s) that show under what conditions polyethylene is likely to precipitate out of a high pressure solution of polyethylene in supercritical ethylene. This then permits a better definition to run a high pressure reactor to reduce the likelihood of phase separation, loss of cooling and potentially decomposition of the reactor contents.

Abstract: A system for information management has a compilation device collecting information particular to a vending device located therein, a PDA useable for receipt, manipulation or inputting information into the compilation device. An activation device triggers the compilation device to prepare it to export or import information to or from the PDA. The compilation device has a power source and activation sensor for activation of thereof and in a dormant state prior to such activation, thereby conserving the energy stored within the power source, and allowing the data compilation device to remain as small as possible. The PDA has operating software which is able to synchronize multiple PDAs to a computer server and is also capable of having route management software for use by field engineers.
