Abstract: Concentrated solutions of inorganic hydroxylammonium salts can safely be produced in a process for concentrating a dilute solution of an inorganic hydroxylammonium salt by contact with a membrane having a sorption side and a desorption side. The process comprises contacting the dilute solution with the sorption side of a membrane, which is substantially permeable to the solvent and substantially impermeable to the solute of the solution, to sorb the solvent and permit the solvent to flow through the membrane to the desorption side. Desorbing the solvent from the desorption side of the membrane.Highly concentrated aqueous solutions of hydroxylammonium salts which are heat sensitive are produced by the novel process of the invention which does not require directly heating the solution and is substantially free of hazards.

A second metal or alloy component has a second thin refractory oxide on the first surface thereof. Means are provided having a closely matched coefficient of thermal expansion to the first and second metal or alloy components for bonding the first and second thin refractory oxide layers and for electrically insulating the first component from the second component whereby thermal stress between the metal or alloy components and the bonding means is substantially eliminated.
Abstract: A solution of hydroxylamine nitrate is electrolytically produced in an electrochemical cell having a cathode compartment, an anode compartment, and a separator between the cathode compartment and the anode compartment. The process comprises feeding a catholyte consisting essentially of an aqueous nitric acid solution to the cathode compartment. An anolyte solution is fed to the anode compartment. The catholyte is electrolyzed while maintaining the cathodic reaction temperature below about 50.degree. C. and a cathode half-cell potential at from about -0.5 to about -3 volts to produce a hydroxylamine nitrate solution which is recovered from the cathode compartment. The novel process of the present invention directly produces highly concentrated hydroxylamine nitrate solutions of high purity, i.e., suitable for use in a monopropellant.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an interconnect tape for TAB and electronic packages made from the tape. A heat dissipating pad positioned over the electrically active face of an electronic device transfers heat from the device to the electronic package or to an external heatsink. The tape leads, the heat dissipating pad and the support members for the heat dissipating pad are all formed from the same electrically conductive strip.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for supplying extra-long lengths of continuous metal strip material to metal processing and/or manufacturing equipment. The device has a central member adapted to receive a plurality of coils of strip material and free to rotate about its longitudinal axis and a plurality of retractable spacing elements for separating adjacent coils of material without interfering with the material feed operation. To insure a supply of material sufficient to enable operation of the equipment for long periods of time, the coils stacked on the central member are interconnected.
Abstract: A continuous process for producing granular calcium hypochlorite particles comprises admixing lime and an aqueous liquid in a mixing zone to form a lime slurry. The lime slurry is fed into a crystallizing zone along with a calcium hypochlorite-containing liquid to produce a slurry of coarse dibasic calcium hypochlorite crystals and to elutriate a fines slurry from the crystallizing zone. The coarse dibasic calcium hypochlorite crystals are separated from a dibasic hypochlorite mother liquor and fed to a chlorinating zone. Reaction of the coarse dibasic calcium hypochlorite crystals with a chlorinating agent is conducted to produce a slurry of hemibasic calcium hypochlorite crystals. The slurry is fed to a separator to separate a hemibasic hypochlorite mother liquor from the hemibasic calcium hypochlorite crystals.
Abstract: The process of constructing a multi-layer glass-ceramic circuit is disclosed. One or more glass-ceramic substrates is formed from a slurry or molten glass particles and ceramic which was formed at a temperature wherein the glass particles are molten and the ceramic particles are solid. After an electrical conductor pattern is applied on at least a surface of one of the glass-ceramic structures, at least two glass-ceramic structures are stacked on one another with the electrical conductor pattern therebetween and heated until the glass of each glass-ceramic structure bonds with adjacent glass so as to form the multi-layer structure.
Abstract: In a plural component foam dispensing apparatus there is provided an adjustable valving rod which permits the length of the rod to be more accurately adjusted to compensate for varying tolerances and permit the rod to extend out the end of the mixing chamber in its extended position and to retract to the rear of the inlet orifices in its retracted position.
Abstract: A process for the production of an aqueous solution containing chlorine dioxide and chlorine, which comprises:(a) feeding to a reaction zone a first reactant stream comprising an aqueous solution containing an alkali metal chlorate and an alkali metal chloride;(b) feeding to said reaction zone a second reaction stream comprising an acid admixture of phosphoric acid and sulfuric acid, wherein the weight ratio of said phosphoric acid to said sulfuric acid as expressed as H.sub.3 PO.sub.4 :H.sub.2 SO.sub.4, is from about 1:16 to about 1:3;(c) mixing said first and second reactant streams in said reactant zone; said streams being fed into said reaction zone at rates sufficient to form a reaction product stream comprising an aqueous solution of chlorine dioxide and chlorine in said reaction zone; and(d) withdrawing the resulting aqueous reaction product stream from said reaction zone.
