  • Patent number: 12018129
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for recovering an organic solvent from a waste sludge generated during formation of a polyarylene sulfide. Methods include combining the waste sludge with a liquid extractant that extracts the organic solvent into a homogeneous liquid phase. Upon a temperature change, the homogeneous liquid phase can separate into an organic solvent-rich liquid phase and a liquid extractant-rich liquid phase. The two liquid phases can be separated and further processed if desired to further purify the recovered organic solvent. Methods can also include forming the polyarylene sulfide by a polymerization process and thereafter purifying a slurry of the polyarylene sulfide. A liquid washing product is formed as a result of the purification process, which can be subjected to a distillation process that forms an organic solvent-rich stream and the waste sludge.

Abstract: Hardware enforced CPU core protection by identification of digital blocks as instructions or data. A method includes, at a memory controller shim, receiving, from a CPU core, a memory read request. The memory read request comprises an address for a block. The block at the address is requested from a memory. The block is received from the memory. At least one of a decryption key or an authentication key is accessed. At least one of a decryption transformation or an authentication transformation is performed on the block using the decryption key or the authentication key. When the decryption transformation or authentication transformation is deemed valid, a plain text version of the block is returned to the CPU core for consumption. • Patent number: 12019246
Abstract: Variable-focus lenses are arranged as a lens pair that work on opposite sides of a see-through optical combiner used in a mixed-reality head-mounted display (HMD) device. An eye-side variable-focus lens is configured as a negative lens over an eyebox of the see-through optical combiner to enable virtual-world objects to be set at a close distance. The negative lens is compensated by its conjugate using a real-world-side variable-focus lens configured as a positive lens to provide an unperturbed see-through experience. For non-presbyopes, the powers of the lenses are perfectly offset. For presbyopes, the lens powers is mismatched at times to provide simultaneous views of both virtual-world and real-world objects on the display in sharp focus. Responsively an eye tracker indicating that the user is engaged in close viewing, optical power is added to the real-world-side lens to push close real-world objects optically farther away into sharp focus for the presbyopic user.

  • Patent number: 12020191
Abstract: This application relates to employing trained machine learning processes to predict sales across various sale channels. For example, a computing device may generate features based on historical sales information, and trains the machine learning processes based on the generated features. In some examples, the computing device determines fixed cost effects from selling items across various sales channels, and adjusts the sales information based on the fixed cost effects. The computing device also generates features based on the adjusted sales. The computing device may apply the trained machine learning processes to sales information for one or more items to predict the sales of one or more items across one or more sales channels during a future temporal period. In some examples, the trained machine learning processes generate a ranking of items for a sales channel based on the output generated from the trained machine learning processes.
