  • Patent number: 12014410
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing content and content recommendations are described. Content recommendations for users in a service area may be based on content requests from users within the same service area. Content recommendations over a period of time may dynamically change based on many factors, including: the number of requests for particular content within one or more time frames, the storage location of requested content relative to requesting users, and whether a request occurs within a time period of rapid shift in use and types of content requested. A content recommendation including one or more content recommendations may be provided to users.

  • Patent number: 12013888
Abstract: Techniques for recommending media are described. A character preference function comprising a plurality of preference coefficients is accessed. A first character model comprises a first set of attribute values for the plurality of attributes of a first character. The first and second characters are associated with a first and second salience value, respectively. A second character model comprises a second set of attribute values for the plurality of attributes of a second character of the plurality of characters. A first character rating is calculated using the plurality of preference coefficients and the first set of attribute values. A second character rating of the second character is calculated using the plurality of preference coefficients with the second set of attribute values. A media rating is calculated based on the first and second salience values and the first and second character ratings. A media is recommended based on the media rating.

  • Patent number: 12015765
Abstract: In a method of decoding, coded information of a coding unit (CU), a template region, and a plurality of reference regions is received. The coded information includes a first syntax element indicating whether the CU is predicted based on a template matching based multiple reference line (MRL) intra prediction mode. In response to the first syntax element indicating that the CU is predicted based on the template matching based multiple reference line (MRL) intra prediction mode, a plurality of cost values is determined between (i) respective prediction samples of the template region based on samples in each of the plurality of reference regions, and (ii) reconstructed samples of the template region corresponding to the respective prediction samples. A reference region from the plurality of reference regions is determined based on the plurality of cost values. Samples of the CU are reconstructed based on the samples in the determined reference region.

  • Patent number: 12013857
Abstract: A query is received in a distributed storage system that asks for frequently accessed items of a select storage tier in a service store. The query is executed on at least one data summary structure maintained by a client node that corresponds with the select storage tier in the service store. Each data summary structure maintained by the client node summarizes a data stream of item access of the select storage tier during a period of time and different data summary structures from different periods of time are periodically merged so that the query is conducted on a merged data summary structure maintained by the client node. A result is returned from the executed query that is indicative of frequently accessed items of the select storage tier in the service store.

  • Patent number: 12012091
Abstract: Although internal combustion engines typically waste about 75% of their fuel energy, this invention can provides 31% or more brake horsepower than the engine alone by using anhydrous organic racing engine coolant or other anhydrous organic heat transfer fluid arranged to spiral around a combustion chamber until heated to over 250° C. without boiling while exceeding the boiling point of a separate working fluid that is heated by coolant then superheated by exhaust gas before entering a unique positive displacement vapor expander engine having a piston connected by a clutch to a driveshaft that is also driven by the combustion engine to create a high efficiency direct mechanical powertrain which avoids losses of about 15% had a generator charged a battery powering an electric motor-generator connected for regenerative braking to charge batteries. Highly elevated coolant temperatures also reduce cylinder and exhaust temperatures to lower emission toxicity while preventing lubricant burnout.

  • Patent number: 12014322
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for validating and updating data in a database. In an embodiment, a server may receive an HTML, file including content of a third-party website controlled by a third party from a web-component. The content may include a first set of data associated with an item. The web-component may be configured to extract the content of the third party website and generate the HTML file in response to executing code embedded in the third-party website. The server may retrieve a second set of data associated with the item available at the third-party from the database. The server may identify a difference between the mapped first set of data and the second set of data and execute an action in the database to update to the second set of data.

  • Patent number: 12014378
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed in which a user engaging in an online or in-person transaction with a merchant may create automatic expiring transactions for a credit card. The user provides the credit card information to an online interface or a point-of-sale device but specifies an expiration date that is on or before the actual expiration date of the credit card, known as an artificial expiration date. A token for the merchant is generated with the artificial expiration date. The issuing bank will honor the transaction with the artificial expiration date using the merchant-specific token, and the token may continue to be used with the online merchant until the artificial expiration date.
