Abstract: The present invention is directed to systems and methods for redundant flight control configured for use in an aircraft. More specifically, a system is provided that includes a plurality of actuators that are configured to move a flight component of an aircraft such that one actuator is configured to move the flight component if the other actuator fails to move the flight component upon receipt of an attitude command from a pilot control.

The apparatus includes one or more individual sensing tiles in communication with the computer that form a sensor surface that detects force applied to the surface and provides a signal corresponding to the force to the computer which produces from the signal a time varying continuous image of force applied to the surface, where the surface is contiguous, and detected force can be sensed in a manner that is geometrically continuous and seamless on a surface. Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to electrode active materials for use in battery cells that include a lithium metal phosphate core having a more ionically conductive layer thereon. The layer of the ionic conducting material advantageously can increase lithium ion conduction of the active material by at least one order of magnitude relative to the core material alone. As such, electrodes may be fabricated with lower areal densities resulting in battery cells that have such electrodes with higher charge rates and potentially smaller physical dimensions.

A second user is permitted to access the object based on detecting a presence of the second user within a predetermined time of detecting an absence of the first user. Abstract: Lighting systems are described. A lighting system includes a first lead frame portion and a second lead frame portion. The first lead frame portion has at least a top surface, a bottom surface, and an opening. The second lead frame portion is within the opening of the first lead frame portion and has at least a top surface and a bottom surface. Light-emitting diode (LED) devices are each mechanically and electrically coupled to the top surface of the first lead frame portion and the top surface of the second lead frame portion. An electrically insulating and optically reflective material is disposed over exposed regions of the top surfaces of the first and second lead frame portions.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to novel nucleotide and amino acid sequences of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (“PEDV”), including novel genotypes thereof, all of which are useful in the preparation of vaccines for treating and preventing diseases in swine and other animals. Vaccines provided according to the practice of the invention are effective against multiple swine PEDV genotypes and isolates. Diagnostic and therapeutic polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies are also a feature of the present invention, as are infectious clones useful in the propagation of the virus and in the preparation of vaccines. Particularly important aspects of the invention include polynucleotide constructs that replicate in tissue culture and in host swine. The invention also provides for novel full length PEDV genomes that can replicate efficiently in host animals and tissue culture.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method of transmitting data in a logical network that includes multiple hubs in a hub cluster and multiple branches. Each branch connects to a hub of the cluster through a virtual private network (VPN) tunnel. The method is performed by a network controller. The method assigns one of the hubs as a master hub. The method then sends a command to each of the other hubs in the hub cluster to establish a VPN tunnel between the other hub and the master hub. The method then advertises, to the other hubs, routes between the other hubs through the master hub. Each branch, in some embodiments is connected to only one hub in the hub cluster.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to monitor media presentations are disclosed. Example methods disclosed herein include presenting information via a display of a media device, the information indicating that monitor software in the media device can be enabled, the monitor software to monitor media presented by the media device, the monitor software to be disabled by default. The wake-modifying device includes a plate-like member and at least one downturned surface.
