Abstract: A system enables universal remote media control across multiple platforms, devices, and users. A protocol allows a cast controller to have access to media operations and a state(s) associated with media content. The system receives commands from a cast controller, provides the commands to a media player, loads new media content into the media player, based on the commands, and receives state notifications from the media player. Another cast controller can receive the state notifications from the media player and control the media player based on the media operations and state(s) associated with media content.

Abstract: A shift control device and method of controlling an axle assembly of a vehicle. The method includes electrically connecting a shift control device to the vehicle and commanding, with the shift control device, an actuator to move a coupling of the axle assembly to a neutral position, thereby disconnecting an electric motor from a wheel hub.
Abstract: An optical combiner in a display system of a mixed-reality head-mounted display (HMD) device comprises a lens of birefringent material and a ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) modulator that are adapted for use with a reflective waveguide to provide multiple different focal planes on which holograms of virtual-world objects (i.e., virtual images) are displayed. The birefringent lens has two orthogonal refractive indices, ordinary and extraordinary, depending on the polarization state of the incident light. Depending on the rotation of the polarization axis by the FLC modulator, the incoming light to the birefringent lens is focused either at a distance corresponding to the ordinary refractive index or the extraordinary refractive index. Virtual image light leaving the birefringent lens is in-coupled to a see-through reflective waveguide which is configured to form an exit pupil for the optical combiner to enable an HMD device user to view the virtual images from the source.

Abstract: A magnetic closure bumper assembly is used in conjunction with a movable structure that engages a stationary structure. The magnetic bumper assembly includes a first closure bumper and a second closure bumper. The first closure bumper includes a first bumper casing in which a first magnet is disposed. The first bumper casing has a mounting surface configured for attachment to the movable structure and an engagement surface opposing the mounting surface. The second closure bumper includes a second bumper casing in which a second magnet is disposed. The second bumper casing has a mounting surface configured for attachment to the stationary structure and an engagement surface opposing the mounting surface.
Abstract: Disclosed are algorithms and agent-based structures for a system and technique for analyzing and managing the airspace. The technique includes managing bulk properties of large numbers of heterogeneous multidimensional aircraft trajectories in an airspace, for the purpose of maintaining or increasing system safety, and to identify possible phase transition structures to predict when an airspace will approach the limits of its capacity. The paths of the multidimensional aircraft trajectories are continuously recalculated in the presence of changing conditions (traffic, exclusionary airspace, weather, for example) while optimizing performance measures and performing trajectory conflict detection and resolution. Such trajectories are represented as extended objects endowed with pseudo-potential, maintaining objectives for time, acceleration limits, and fuel-efficient paths by bending just enough to accommodate separation.

Abstract: A Hall effect sensor system includes a Hall effect sensor and a drive-sense circuit (DSC). The Hall effect sensor includes an input port to receive a DC (direct current) current signal and generates a Hall voltage based on exposure to a magnetic field. The DSC generates the DC current signal based on a reference signal and drives it via a single line that operably couples the DSC to the Hall effect sensor and simultaneously to sense the DC current signal via the single line. The DSC detects an effect on the DC current signal corresponding to the Hall voltage that is generated across the Hall effect sensor based on exposure of the Hall effect sensor to the magnetic field and generates a digital signal representative of the Hall voltage.

In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving, by a computing device, audio data that corresponds to an utterance. The actions further include determining a likelihood that the utterance includes a hotword. The actions further include determining a loudness score for the audio data. The actions further include based on the loudness score, determining an amount of delay time. The actions further include, after the amount of delay time has elapsed, transmitting a signal that indicates that the computing device will initiate speech recognition processing on the audio data.

Abstract: An example line restraint system comprises a housing, a processor, a motor, a release cam, and a timer. The release cam comprises a stem portion and an arm portion. The stem portion is proximate to the housing and the arm portion may be opposite the stem portion. The stem portion may be rotatably coupled to the motor. The motor may be configured to turn the arm portion of the release cam between an open and closed state. When in the closed state, an overhang of the arm portion at least partially defines a cavity capable of retaining a release line. When in the open state, the release cam opens the cavity to enable release of the release line. The timer may receive instructions from the processor to set a particular time and to trigger the motor to turn the release cam from the closed state to the open state.
Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling a sunshade of a vehicle. The methods and systems receive a route plan from a first location to a second location, predict a sun parameter indicative of sun glare on the window for the route plan based on solar direction and vehicle heading at distributed locations throughout the route plan, and activate the sunshade based on the sun parameter so as to shade the window.
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatus that help reduce and prevent infection by controlling and/or reducing the level of contaminants, which include pathogens, allergens and/or odor-causing agents including VOCs. Photocatalytic oxidation is performed in a high humidity environment so that hydrogen peroxide molecules are readily produced.
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for analyzing different media to determine if the media originated from the same source. A two-part analysis is provided. During the first part, target data streams are analyzed to determine a template for the data stream or file, based upon the encoder used to encode the media transmitted in the data stream or stored in a file. After generating templates for the different streams, the templates are compared to determine which streams have matching templates. The second part of the analysis includes monitoring streams with matching templates to identify the same piece of media content in each of the streams. Upon identifying the same content, the content of each stream is synchronized and then compared to determine if the compared pieces of content were generated using the same encoder.
Abstract: A method for automatically inserting hyperlinks is provided. In one example, the method includes determining a location for a hyperlink anchor in a document based on a type of structural element identified in the document. A presentation of the hyperlink anchor may be displayed according to a set of rules defining an appearance of the hyperlink anchor according to the type of structural element.
Abstract: Methods and a system are provided for shaping a torque profile for a motor of a hybrid vehicle. In one example, the method includes during a vehicle launch, an off condition of an engine, and upon receiving an engine start request, predicting a time of engine engagement, predicting a driver requested torque at the engine engagement; and reducing the driver requested torque until the predicted time of engine engagement based on the predicted driver requested torque at the engine engagement. The predicting of at least one of the time of engine engagement and the driver requested torque at the engine engagement may be based on a current position of an accelerator pedal and a driver profile. The method may further include controlling motor torque profile based on the reduced driver request torque.
