  • Patent number: 12200851
Abstract: An atomic-beam source device is configured to provide a collimated beam of atoms, wherein solid-state electrochemistry is employed to recirculate atoms that are caught on collimation channel walls. The use of solid-state electrochemistry to recirculate atoms enables a chip-scale, dark-wall, high-quality collimated beam source that does not clog over time. Some variations provide an atomic-beam source device comprising: a first electrode; a second electrode that is electrically isolated from the first electrode; a first ion conductor interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, wherein the first ion conductor is capable of transporting metal ions, and wherein the first ion conductor is in contact with the first electrode and with the second electrode; and one or more collimation channels disposed outwardly from the first ion conductor. Methods of using the atomic-beam source device are disclosed, including methods to recirculate and reuse metal atoms adsorbed on collimation channel walls.

  • Patent number: 12200821
Abstract: The method includes electrically connecting a first line and a second line to a first terminal and a second terminal, the first line and the second line being in parallel, first configuring an aerosol-generator and a first barrier element within the first line, and second configuring an identifying element and a second barrier element within the second line. The first barrier element and the second barrier element each have an asymmetric electrical conductance. The first and second configuring configures the aerosol-generating system so that a first electrical current applied through the first and second terminal in a first direction allows the first electrical current to pass through the identifying element without activating the aerosol-generator, and a second electrical current applied through the first and second terminal in a second direction allows the second electrical current to activate the aerosol-generator without the second electrical current passing through the identifying element.

  • Patent number: 12197623
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein discuss securing user-entered data in-transit between a first device and a second device. A user may enter text in a document. A first device may analyze the document to identify the user-entered text. The user-entered text may be separated from the document and transformed into an image using a machine learning algorithm. Transforming the text into an image may secure the data in-transit from the first device to a second device. The second device may receive the image and the document from the first device. The second device may reconstruct the user-entered text from the received image and re-assemble the document from the received document and the reconstructed user-entered text.

  • Patent number: 12199826
Abstract: A control device may communicate messages with devices in a network through a parent device, and receive messages from auxiliary parent devices. The control device may store a respective communication metric associated with each of the parent device and the one or more auxiliary parent devices. The control device may set an auxiliary parent device of the one or more auxiliary parent devices as the parent device of the control device, e.g., when a respective communication metric of the auxiliary parent device determined to be set as the parent device indicates a stronger communication link than the parent device. The control device may determine that the respective communication metric of the auxiliary parent device indicates a stronger potential communication link than the parent device when the average received signal strength indicator of auxiliary parent device is greater than the average received signal strength indicator of the parent device.
