Abstract: Among other things, techniques are described for controlling, using a control circuit, motion of a vehicle based objects identified using LiDAR. For example, respective classes of points of a point cloud are determined, and based on the determined respective classes of the points of the point cloud, objects in the vicinity of the vehicle are identified.

Abstract: A method includes receiving data indicative of an image of a face of an unknown user of the computing device while the computing device is in a reduced access mode locked state. The method also includes determining whether the unknown user is the known user by at least comparing the image of the face of the unknown user to one or more images of a plurality of images of a face of a known user of the computing device. The method further includes setting the computing device to an increased access mode in response to determining that the unknown user is the known user.

Abstract: According to implementations of the subject matter described herein, there is provided a solution of providing a health index of a service. In this solution, a plurality of incident information sets associated with a plurality of services are obtained. The plurality of services are provisioned in a computing environment. An incident information set indicates at least one incident reported during operation of a service. Respective health indices are determined for the plurality of services based on respective ones of the plurality of incident information sets and a health classification policy. The respective health indices indicate respective health statuses of the plurality of services and being determined from a same health index range. Through unified use of incident information, the determined health indices can indicate universal and consistent health statuses for different services.

Abstract: An aesthetic camera housing including a base and a mount. The base and mount each define one or more fastener holes sized and shaped to accept a fastener. The base defines a camera channel with two openings positioned proximate the rear and bottom surfaces and the mount defines a camera hole through its top and bottom surface. When the bottom surface of the base and the top surface of the mount are flush with one another, the camera channel and mount camera hole are in fluid communication with each other, and a camera can be inserted therein. The fastener holes of the base and mount are in fluid communication allowing the base and mount to be fastened together. The base also includes an aesthetically pleasing feature. The mount is formed from a transparent material and retains a LED within whose light penetrates the mount and also increases aesthetic appeal.

Abstract: Content may be received at an edge location in one format, but delivered to a terminal on an access network in another format. The received content may be transcoded at the edge location. The transcoded content may be stored, or immediately delivered. The transcoded content may be fragmented prior to storage. Multiple copies of the transcoded content may be maintained in multiple formats. These formats may be aligned with one another such that delivery of the content can include delivering portions of the content in one format and other portions of the content in another format.

Abstract: A multiple location dimming system may include a smart dimmer (e.g., a main load control device) and one or more remote dimmers (e.g., accessory devices) for controlling the amount of power delivered to a lighting load. The multiple location dimming system may be installed in place of a multiple location switch system (e.g., having three, four, or more multi-way switches), and may not require a neutral connection at any of the control devices of the multiple location dimming system. The main load control device and the accessory devices of the multiple location dimming system may be configured to display a present intensity level of a lighting load on one or more visual indicators. The accessory devices may have the same or different user interfaces as the main load control device, and may provide additional functionality over that which the main load control device offers.

Abstract: A node of a database system is operable to determine, at a first time, to prepare for a shutdown. The shutdown of the node is performed at a second time that is a period of time after the first time based on the node delaying the shutdown until a plurality of currently running processes being run by the node that initiated prior to the first time are determined to be complete. During the period of time after the first time and prior to performing the shutdown, a set of new processing requests are rejected by the node.

Abstract: A content delivery network (CDN) includes UE gateways, a service switch (SS) mesh network, and server gateways. The CDN nodes maintain cache lists of mappings identifying corresponding upstream system nodes for content items available at content servers connected to the server gateways. When a CDN node receives an upstream service instance request for a specific content item by a corresponding UE connected to a UE gateway, upon determining that a mapping for the specific content item is in its cache list, the CDN node forwards the upstream service instance request to the corresponding upstream system node as part of a process of defining a downstream data path for the specific content item from the corresponding content server to the corresponding UE. The CDN enables service-level content delivery at lower levels of latency than conventional DNS-based systems.

Abstract: Methods and systems of narrowcasting to a service group having one or more one-way set top boxes are shown and disclosed. The method may include receiving encrypted single program transport streams (SPTSs) from an encryptor, and receiving one or more session control signals for the SPTSs from a switched digital video (SDV) control system. The method may additionally include receiving service information (SI) packet identifiers (PIDs) for the SPTSs from a conditional access (CA) system, and updating the SI PIDs based on the one or more session control signals. The method may further include converting the SPTSs to narrowcast multiprogram transport streams (MPTSs) based on the one or more session control signals, and transmitting the narrowcast MPTSs and the updated SI PIDs to a plurality of edge quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) devices.

Abstract: Dental instruments, assemblies, and components for a dental instrument are described with a two-piece tip that includes a flexible tip end and a stiff shank. Various methods of assembly are described for securing the flexible tip end to the shank including utilizing a slot in the shank and one or more pins inserted through the tip and shank, a securing material, and forming the shank with a distal portion coupled to a portion of the flexible tip end.

Abstract: A liquid level sensing system for a vehicle tank may include a liquid level display including a display panel and a first number of visual indicators carried by the display panel. The system may also include capacitive sensors to be coupled to the vehicle tank to sense a second number of possible liquid levels being greater than the first number of visual indicators. In addition, the system may include a controller configured to drive the visual indicators in a modulation pattern based upon the capacitive sensors to thereby display a sensed liquid level having a resolution corresponding to the second number of possible liquid levels.

Abstract: A network function receives, from a radio access network (RAN), a message indicating a wireless device identifier of a wireless device, one or more requested network slices requested by the wireless device, isolation of the one or more requested network slices from one or more other network slices, and access and mobility management function (AMF) discovery. The network function sends, to a unified data management (UDM), a subscriber data request message indicating the wireless device identifier and the one or more requested network slices. The network function receives, from the UDM, a subscriber data response message indicating one or more allowed network slices that the wireless device is allowed to access. The network function determines, based on the network slice isolation information, an address of an AMF that serves the one or more allowed network slices and does not serve the one or more other network slices.

Abstract: A wall brace system and/or a retainer member thereof that supports a structural member of the wall brace system, as well as a method of forming the retainer member. In particular, the retainer member includes tabs formed from the body of the retainer member. For example, the tabs may be formed from the edges of the retainer body or from within the edges of the retainer body. When installed, the wall brace system with the retainer member provides an apparatus for supporting a wall in a building structure, which has been moved inward by pressure from the earth outside in order to return the wall to a desired position. The wall brace system comprises a structural member, the retainer member, a mounting member, a load member, a jack, and/or a locking member.

Abstract: Systems and methods for improved visualization of non-destructive testing (NDT) measurements are provided. A probe can be employed to acquire NDT measurements of a target. Images of the target can also be captured during testing. The captured images can be analyzed to identify selected objects therein (e.g., the target, the probe, etc.) Graphical user interfaces (GUIs) including the NDT measurements can be further generated for viewing in combination with the target. In one aspect, the GUI can be viewed as a hologram within a display of an augmented reality device when viewing the target. In another aspect, the GUI can be projected upon the target. The GUI can be configured to overlay the NDT measurements at the location where the NDT measurements are acquired. This display of the NDT measurements can help an inspector more easily relate the NDT measurements to the target and improve reporting of the NDT measurements.

Abstract: A foldable device may include a foldable layer and a hinge mechanism. The hinge mechanism may include at least one gear module that provides for synchronized movement of the hinge mechanism about a central plane of the hinge mechanism. A lock module may be coupled the hinge mechanism. The lock module may include a cam and a plate including a plurality of recesses. The lock module may selectively lock the hinge mechanism, and the foldable device, in one of a plurality of positions, based on a position of the cam in one of the recesses.
