Abstract: A head unit system for controlling motion of an object includes a secondary object sensor, shear thickening fluid (STF), and a chamber configured to contain a portion of the STF. The chamber further includes a front channel and a back channel. The head unit system further includes a piston housed at least partially radially within the piston compartment and separating the back channel and the front channel. The piston includes a first piston bypass and a second piston bypasses to control flow of the STF between opposite sides of the piston. The chamber further includes a set of fluid manipulation emitters to control the flow of the STF to cause selection of one of a variety of shear rates for the STF within the chamber.

Abstract: An accommodating intraocular lens (AIOL) for implantation within a capsular bag of a patient's eye comprises first and second components coupled together to define an inner fluid chamber and an outer fluid reservoir. The inner region of the AIOL provides optical power with one or more of the shaped fluid within the inner fluid chamber or the shape of the first or second components. The fluid reservoir comprises a bellows region with fold(s) extending circumferentially around an optical axis of the eye. The bellows engages the lens capsule, and a compliant fold region between the inner and outer bellows portions allows the profile of the AIOL to deflect when the eye accommodates for near vision. Fluid transfers between the inner fluid chamber and the outer fluid reservoir to provide optical power changes. A third lens component coupled to the first or second component provides additional optical power.

Abstract: An energy-promoting composition includes an exogenous ketone body component that provides a source of caloric energy, a vasodilator component, a stimulant component, such as caffeine, and optionally a nootropic component. In most if not all cases, the vasodilator, stimulant, and nootropic components do not themselves provide a source of caloric energy but may increase metabolism of available caloric energy. The separate components beneficially and synergistically interact with one another to enhance the overall energy-promoting effect of the composition more rapidly and to a greater degree than if one or more of the components are omitted. The energy-promoting composition is also formulated to minimize the crash effect common to stimulants such as energy drinks.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a packaging machine for packaging articles, apparatus for a packaging machine and to a method of packaging articles. The packaging machine comprises an article manipulation apparatus. The article manipulation apparatus comprises a first conveyor for conveying packages. The packages each comprises a carton having at least one displaceable article disposed therein. An article orientation device comprises a tool head movable synchronously in a downstream direction with the first conveyor. The tool head has at least one article gripper for engaging with a displaceable article in the carton. The at least one article gripper is rotatably mounted to the tool head. An article displacement device comprises at least one article displacement tool. The article displacement tool is receivable in an opening in a carton to engage and displace the displaceable article such that it protrudes through a second opening in said carton.

Abstract: A configurable spacecraft attachment and deployment system and a method of constructing a configurable spacecraft attachment and deployment system are provided herein. In one embodiment, the configurable spacecraft attachment and deployment system includes: (1) a connecting structure configured to secure at least one spacecraft to a launch interface, (2) an actuating assembly configured to constrain the spacecraft to the connecting structure before deployment thereof and release the spacecraft from the connecting structure when deployed, and (3) a deploying mechanism coupled to the connecting structure and configured to eject the spacecraft from the attaching structure, wherein the connecting structure, the actuating assembly, and the deploying mechanism are modular components and the connecting structure and deploying mechanism are selected to form the system based on parameters of the spacecraft.

Abstract: A method for switching a configuration of an enhanced reality headset is provided. The method includes identifying a scenario to switch a configuration of an enhanced reality headset between a virtual reality configuration, an augmented reality configuration, and a direct reality configuration, wherein the virtual reality configuration and the augmented reality configuration include a computer generated image, and the direct reality configuration and the augmented reality configuration include a real-time image of an environment of a user of the enhanced reality headset. The method includes providing a notification to a user of the enhanced reality headset including an intent to switch the configuration of the enhanced reality headset, and switching the configuration of the enhanced reality headset according to the scenario.

Abstract: A telecommunications equipment frame including a base, and two vertical uprights, and a top member; the upright members defining an upper equipment zone and a lower cable tray zone. One or more front trays are in the lower cable tray zone, and openings are provided through the frame to one or more rear trays. The equipment zone defined by the two uprights is open without cable management structure for receiving telecommunications equipment. At least one slack storage zone adjacent to the central zone includes a plurality of cable management devices for storing cable slack.

Abstract: A vacuum station comprising a main housing and a pair of arms extending from the main housing. The arms are configured to hold a roller. The main housing has a front face and a rear face, with the front face having a recess therein. An air path extends from the front face to the rear face. The vacuum station also includes a removable plate having a plurality of suction holes therethrough located within the recess in the front face of the main housing. The removable plate is removably connected to the main housing by magnets. A sheet of labels can be held to the removable plate by a suction force through the air path in the main housing and the suction holes in the removable plate.

Abstract: A method includes accessing a scene graph defining a spatial relationship of a plurality of first bounding boxes associated with a plurality of virtual objects in a field of view of a user of an artificial reality (AR) device; accessing a second bounding box associated with a first bounding box of the plurality of first bounding boxes; determining, based on the second bounding box, a subregion within a sensing region of a depth sensor; obtaining first depth data within the subregion; generating, based on the first depth data, a three-dimensional model for one or more real objects; determining a visibility of a first virtual object in the AR environment associated with the first bounding box based on the three-dimensional model for the one or more real objects; and generating an output image of an AR environment based on the determined visibility of the first virtual object.

Abstract: Computational/communication system security tools are provided. Such tools report at least one multi-dimensional (or multi-component) data-object (based on the monitored events) to an administrator of the system. The multiple components of the data object provide multiple risk indicators (e.g., risk scores) along various dimensions of security for such systems. Thus, tools provide multi-dimensional monitoring and reporting of risks and security threats to computational/communication systems. The tools may also provide at least one risk mitigation action (e.g., quarantining and/or prohibiting particular risky entities, entity groups, and/or entity activities) based on the enhanced monitoring and detection methods presented herein.

Abstract: Described herein are a system and method for forming a container image. The system and method include obtaining a first layer of a plurality of layers of the container image. The contents of the first layer are stored in a directory such that a first disk image layer file is mounted to the directory. A second layer of the plurality of layers is obtained, and the contents of the second layer are stored in the directory so that the first disk image layer includes contents of the first layer and the second layer. The first disk image layer is saved and is mountable and includes files of the container image.

Abstract: The disclosure provides improved methods and devices to create a hammock effect to stabilize the urethra without creating an incision in the abdomen or the vagina, and without using a surgical mesh. Such implementations can also leave no permanent material in the body. The simplicity afforded by such procedures and methods permits treatment of patients on an outpatient basis, and avoids risks and disadvantages associated with the installation of a permanent mesh.

Abstract: An unsealed submersion system for at least partially submerging furniture in a body of water. The unsealed submersion system comprising one or more pieces of furniture having an interior chamber configured to simultaneously hold water, while maintaining an internal vacuum, and still allowing water to freely flow between the interior of the furniture and the body of water. The unsealed submersion system also includes a pump assembly to draw air out of the interior chamber thereby creating the interior vacuum.

Abstract: Methods and devices for manipulating the temperature of a surface are generally provided. The present disclosure relates to a device including one or more heating and/or cooling elements, or other suitable thermal adjustment apparatus(es), placed near a surface, such as the skin of a user. The device may be configured to generate one or more (optionally alternating) thermal profiles at the surface, which may include a series of thermal pulses and/or essentially continuous or semi-continuous thermal input, which may vary over time. Such thermal profiles, when suitably applied, may provide enhanced thermal sensations for a user which, in some cases, may provide the user with a more pleasurable thermal experience than would otherwise be the case without the generation of the thermal profiles. In some embodiments, an alternating thermal profile may include an average frequency, an oscillation window, and/or an average temperature, each of which may be adjustable.

The base is adapted to fasten to one or more ribs of the deck panel. The tab includes an end connected to the base. Abstract: Disclosed herein are various embodiments relating generally to a system for lifting water from an aquifer formation by drilling a u-shaped well through the aquifer formation, which comprises a water well screen within the aquifer formation with an inner production string with a series of check valves within the aquifer formation that allow water from the aquifer to flow from the water well screen and into the production string while preventing the water from leaving the production string, and then uses air pressure to force the water through a larger check valve in the production string, so that it may be collected in a surface tank. When not extracting water from the aquifer formation, the system allows treated water to be pumped into the outer casing and back into the aquifer, thereby recharging the aquifer formation with water.

Abstract: Techniques in electronic systems, such as in systems comprising a CPU die and one or more external mixed-mode (analog) chips, may provide improvements advantages in one or more of system design, performance, cost, efficiency and programmability. In one embodiment, the CPU die comprises at least one microcontroller CPU and circuitry enabling the at least one CPU to have a full and transparent connectivity to an analog chip as if they are designed as a single chip microcontroller, while the interface design between the two is extremely efficient and with limited in number of wires, yet may provide improved performance without impact to functionality or the software model.

Abstract: A device has one or more loudspeakers housed in a rigid loudspeaker frame and a back cover, affixed to the rigid loudspeaker frame, with a base layer and a raised layer fitted against a back side of the rigid loudspeaker frame, and the base layer has a uniform layer thickness and the raised layer is a non-uniform grid of raised supports which extend beyond a height of the uniform layer thickness to create a plurality of enclosed portions having the uniform layer thickness.

Abstract: One embodiment is directed to a communication system comprising a remote unit comprising a remote unit local clock and a controller communicatively coupled to the remote unit using a switched Ethernet network. The remote unit is configured to synchronize the remote unit local clock to a reference timing source using timing messages communicated over the switched Ethernet network with the remote unit. The communication system is configured to transmit the timing messages and baseband data so as to reduce a level of contention encountered by the timing messages in connection with being communicated over the switched Ethernet network.
