Abstract: A modular plug for terminating a telecommunications cable includes a housing, a plurality of wire contacts, and a wire manager fitted in an internal cavity of the housing. The wire manager includes internal walls shaping a central channel, opposing edges on the internal walls defining a gate in the central channel, and tabs projecting from the gate in the central channel. The tabs define an upper portion and a lower portion in the gate. A strain relief member attaches to the wire manager in an intermediate position to partially restrain the telecommunications cable relative to the wire manager, and is restrained by the housing in a final position to completely restrain the telecommunications cable relative to the wire manager.

Abstract: Techniques for controlling or managing uplink access of a UE to a base station using unlicensed spectrum includes signaling an indication of different uplink access constraints so the UE connects to the base station when the UE and/or the uplink direction between the UE and the base station meet the uplink access constraints. The indication may be broadcast in a reference or synchronization signal, e.g., by utilizing unused or undesignated bits. Uplink access constraints may include a threshold distance of UEs from the base station, interference in the uplink direction (which may differ from interference in the downlink direction), etc. Based on the indicated constraints, the UE may determine whether or not to consider the base station as a candidate serving cell for wireless network access. The UE may be an in-flight aircraft and the base station may be a logical cell of a network that provides in-flight connectivity services.
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining the orientation of the toolface of a rotating downhole tool using multiple sensors that measure different parameters related to the orientation of the toolface, where outputs of the different sensors are used by a Kalman filter which generates accurate predictions of the toolface orientation (state) at each of a series of time steps. The Kalman filter generates a state prediction based on a physical model and a previous state, and updates the prediction based on a received sensor output. Another sensor output is fed through a phase locked loop to generate a sine wave at the fundamental frequency of the sensor signal. The sine wave is used to synchronize another sensor signal that is provided to the Kalman filter for further adjustment of the state prediction.
Abstract: A transoral ultrasound probe for imaging a temporomandibular joint and a method of imaging a temporomandibular joint using a transoral probe.
Abstract: A method, computer program, and computer system is provided for decoding point cloud data. Data corresponding to a point cloud is received. A number of contexts associated with the received data is reduced based on reducing a size of an array corresponding to syntax elements for predictive tree-based coding of the point cloud. The data corresponding to the point cloud is decoded based on the reduced number of contexts.
Abstract: Communication systems and methods for receiving and converting multicast data are disclosed. An example communication system includes an airborne central processing unit configured to: convert multicast data received on a multicast fast path via a satellite to unicast data, forward the unicast data to a user device within a vehicle, collect one or more metrics regarding the multicast data, and transmit the one or more metrics to a satellite ground station via the satellite.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus for differential magnetic field torque sensors that include first and second magnetic targets for coupling to one or more rotatable shafts. The magnetic targets can include multipole ring magnets having a plurality of alternating magnetic domains. First and second differential magnetic field angular position sensors positioned proximate to the magnetic targets produce angular position of the targets and a processing unit is operative to receive an angular position from each of the first and second differential magnetic field angular position sensors and determine a difference between the angular positions. The difference corresponds to an angle between the targets, and the processing unit is operative to calculate, based on the angle, a torque applied to the one or more rotatable shafts.
Abstract: A computer includes a processor and a memory, and the memory stores instructions executable by the processor to, in response to a vehicle towing a trailer being in reverse, determine a relative orientation of the trailer to the vehicle; while the vehicle is in reverse, in response to the relative orientation exceeding a threshold, brake the vehicle; and then, upon receiving an operator input, permit the vehicle to travel in reverse with the relative orientation exceeding the threshold.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for parallel decoding for quantum error correction codes. In one aspect, a classical computer system is configured to implement a decoding process on measurement data received from a quantum computing system to determine errors in a quantum computation. The classical computing system implements a main thread, multiple worker threads, and a data structure common to each worker thread. The data structure stores data of a dynamic system of disjoint clusters of nodes of a detector graph for the decoding process, where the data includes compressed logical flip information of child nodes in each cluster of nodes. During execution of the decoding process, the multiple worker threads are configured to, in parallel: obtain clusters of nodes and modify the clusters of nodes, where, for each modification, the worker thread updates data in the data structure that corresponds to the cluster under an atomicity primitive.
