  • Patent number: 10749667
Abstract: A method and system for providing GTP acceleration for secure cellular backhaul over satellite (CBoS). A satellite terminal receives request from a first entity to establish a security association with a second entity, and establishes a first secure tunnel to a gateway. A second secure tunnel is then established between the gateway and the second entity based on a certificate belonging to the first entity. A third secure tunnel is established between the satellite terminal and the first entity based on a certificate belonging to the second entity. The contents of encrypted traffic between the first entity and the second entity are examined so that GTP acceleration may be applied to eligible traffic transmitted over the first secure tunnel.

  • Publication number: 20200253529
Abstract: A urodynamic investigation apparatus for receipt of urine from a bladder is provided. The apparatus is characterized by a tubular element, first and second fittings, and a sleeve element, for select passage of urine there through, within the tubular element. The tubular element is characterized by opposing first and second end portions, and a port. The fittings are adapted to be received by the opposing end portions of the tubular element so as to delimit an apparatus chamber. The sleeve element, suspended between the fittings within the chamber, has collapsed and open configurations. The collapsed configuration is indicative of a no urine flow condition, and the open configuration indicative of a urine flow condition, with the sleeve element urine flow condition being a function of pressure applied to the chamber via the port of the tubular element.

  • Publication number: 20200256997
Abstract: A system and method for maintaining a laser impinging on a laser detector assembly includes determining a location of the laser from a rotating laser transmitter impinging on a laser sensor. A current position of the laser sensor along a mast of the laser detector assembly is determined and a new position for the laser sensor along the mast is determined based on the location of the laser impinging on the laser sensor and a current position of the laser sensor. The laser sensor is then moved to the new position. The system and method provide an effectively long working range of the laser detector assembly by moving the laser sensor along the mast of the laser detector assembly. An inertial measurement unit is used to calculate position information in the period between laser strikes.

  • Publication number: 20200256721
Abstract: A process for thinning scalar machine vibration data can reduce the amount of data storage required to store the data by several orders of magnitude, without losing any important machine diagnostic vibration information. The process assumes that because each scalar vibration measurement value has its own range of values, there is a unique delta change in value that does not significantly impact machine diagnostic information provided by the data. Some embodiments provide a method to automatically evaluate the delta change in value. The process can be used to thin data that have already been stored in a database, and also to thin the data in real-time during data collection. Data storage structures for storing the thinned scalar values and processes for displaying a trend plot to indicate where the scalar data have been thinned are also described.

  • Publication number: 20200253488
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a medical image processing apparatus includes first specifier, second specifier, determiner and display controller. First specifier collates an ischemic region calculated from a blood vessel visualized into a three-dimensional image in a plurality of phases with a dominating region of the blood vessel, and specifies a culprit vessel in the ischemic region. Second specifier specifies a culprit stenosis in the culprit vessel based on a pressure index calculated from the blood vessel. Determiner determines a connection position to connect a bypass vessel that makes a detour around the culprit stenosis. Display controller displays the determined connection position on a display.

Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to a system that may be configured to operate a power grid, including generation participants, consumers, and a controller that administers a market for the power generation participants and the consumers on the power grid. The operation of the power grid may include: performing power grid coordination calculations based upon, at least in part, constraints that pertain to the flow and/or congestion of power on the grid; and managing the coordination calculations by reducing a number of constraints used in the coordination calculations, the managing including a first step of coarse screening of the constraints, a second step of deterministic fine screening of the constraints, and a third step of statistical fine screening of the constraints. This second step may cause identification of constraints that are redundant and/or dominated by other constraints.

  • Publication number: 20200256622
Abstract: A transducer system includes a housing, an electromechanical transducer within the housing, a wicking material adjacent to a portion of the electromechanical transducer, and a coolant solution within the housing. The coolant solution transitions from a liquid phase to a gaseous phase in response to a temperature of the electromechanical transducer exceeding a threshold temperature. In some example cases, the coolant solution has a boiling point of less than about 60° C., which effectively defines the threshold temperature. The coolant solution may be chosen such that it remains a liquid during a first phase (cooling via conduction), and then evaporates during a second phase (cooling via conduction and convection) as the electromechanical transducer heats up.
