  • Patent number: 10728206
Abstract: Described embodiments provide systems and method for reordering the IP addresses within a DNS response. The servers associated with a domain can often be located across multiple locations. The paths from a client to each of those different servers can have different link qualities. Additionally, the connection between the client and the domain can have different quality requirements. The present solution can consider the link qualities and the connection quality requirements to reorder the IP addresses within a DNS response. By reordering the IP addresses, the system can control to which of the servers the client connects and can ensure that the connection is made over a path that can fulfill the connection's quality requirements.

  • Patent number: 10725144
Abstract: New measurement inputs for Kalman Filter or similar estimation approaches (at each sample) may include: DSRC messages from roadside transmitters (RSTs), such as: how long it takes for a DSRC signal from one or more fixed RSTs to reach the vehicle and comparison of that information with vehicle position estimates from a signal propagation model, which is based on how long it takes a DSRC signal to reach the vehicle GPS location from a fixed known RST location. From such measurements, it can be determined how much longer (or shorter) it takes to receive the RST message compared to the previous sample, which, in turn, gives an idea how far the vehicle has moved over a sample relative to a fixed RST location.

  • Patent number: 10726717
Abstract: Methods and systems include determining travel information from vehicles. In one embodiment, a system monitors traffic on a roadway in real-time. The system includes a plurality of reader devices. The reader devices are capable of asynchronously capturing a unique network identifier of a device in a vehicle when the device is disposed in reader range of the reader devices. The reader device time stamps each captured unique network identifier. The time stamped unique network identifier is forwarded to a host module. The host module receives the time stamped unique network identifier. In addition, the host module determines travel information from the time stamped unique network identifier by comparing the time stamped unique network identifier for a particular vehicle to other time stamped unique network identifiers captured for the particular vehicle.
