Abstract: A cup-type strain wave gearing having a unit structure and having: a stationary-side part including a unit housing and an internally toothed gear; a driving-side part including an output member and an externally toothed gear; and a sliding bearing supporting the stationary-side part and the driving-side part in the radial direction and the thrust direction in a state in which relative rotation is possible. The sliding bearing has a cylindrical bushing accommodated in a radial gap, and annular bushings accommodated respectively in thrust gaps. Thus, it is possible to provide an advantageous strain wave gearing having a unit structure that is more lightweight and compact than when a rolling bearing is used.

Abstract: A resonant inverter of a power supply for electric vehicle includes a first resonant capacitor and a switching element cutting off a current flowing in a resonant circuit and generates first alternating-current power from direct-current power. The transformer is included in a part of the resonant circuit, supplies the first alternating-current power generated by the resonant inverter to a first winding, and supplies second alternating-current power after conversion of the first alternating-current power to a load from a second winding. A control unit confines a difference between a resonant frequency of the resonant circuit and a switching frequency of the switching element to a predetermined range to cause that a current flowing in switching of the switching element to at least the first winding or the second winding is equal to or less than a predetermined value and to cause the resonant inverter to perform soft switching.

Abstract: A magnetic Josephson junction (MJJ) device having a ferrimagnetic/ferromagnetic (FIM/FM) exchange-biased bilayer used as the magnetic hard layer improves switching performance by effectively sharpening the hysteresis curve of the device, thereby reducing error rate when the device is used in a Josephson magnetic random access memory (JMRAM) memory cell. Thus, the materials and devices described herein can be used to build a new type of MJJ, termed a ferrimagnetic Josephson junction (FIMJJ), for use in JMRAM, to construct a robust and reliable cryogenic computer memory that can be used for high-speed superconducting computing, e.g., with clock speeds in the microwave frequency range.
Abstract: A system to optimize resource utilization in an over-the-top (OTT) platform to improve Quality of Experience of viewing a video at the user devices in a mobile communication network is provided. The system is operably coupled to a sensing unit for receiving a sensory input parameters from the user devices, mobile network operator, and an OTT platform, a sensing unit generates a sensed data using received sensory input data; a processing unit receives and process the generated sensed data to determine changes required in a resolution of video provided to the user devices, if resolution of video is below a threshold value; an acting unit provides instructions to OTT platform to stream video to the user devices over a constant bandwidth or constant resolution to prevent transcoding and transrating and conserver resource utilization at OTT platform.
Abstract: A convertible nephroureteral catheter is used in the treatment of urinary system complications, particularly on the need for a single surgically delivered device to treat patients who must be seen by an interventional radiologist (IR). In many current procedures, patients need to return to the operating room to remove a previously delivered nephroureteral catheter to exchange this catheter with a fully implanted ureteral stent delivered though the same access site at the flank. The present convertible nephroureteral catheter reduces the need to return for a second surgical procedure. Two weeks after initial implantation, the proximal portion of the convertible nephroureteral catheter extending out from the body may simply be removed. A simple action at the catheter hub allows this proximal portion to be removed, leaving behind the implanted ureteral stent within the patient's urinary system. Other medical procedures, devices, and technologies may benefit from the described convertible catheter.

Abstract: A computer executable processing component analyzes unknown (X) propagation from uninitialized latches in gate-level simulation and determines if the Xs cause false Xs to be generated due to X-pessimism. For Xs generated due to X-pessimism, simulation results are corrected and fixes are generated. Corrected simulation results match real hardware behavior and greatly reduces engineers' analysis effort on debugging X issues.
