  • Patent number: 7745780
Abstract: A method and apparatus for multiplexed data acquisition for gas-phase ion mobility coupled with mass spectrometry is described. Ion packets are injected into an ion mobility drift chamber at a rate faster than the ion mobility separation arrival time distribution. The convoluted arrival time distributions thus generated are deconvoluted by a mass spectrometer and post-processing algorithms.

  • Patent number: 7746692
Abstract: A memory circuit includes a plurality of memory cells, each of the memory cells being operative to store multiple bits of data therein, and a plurality of column lines and row lines coupled to the memory cells for selectively accessing the memory cells. The circuit further includes multiple sense amplifiers, each of the sense amplifiers being connected to a corresponding one of the column lines and being operative to detect an electric charge stored in a selected one of the memory cells coupled to the corresponding column line and to generate an analog signal indicative of the stored electric charge. An analog multiplexer is connected to the sense amplifiers. The analog multiplexer is operative to receive the respective analog signals from the sense amplifiers and to generate an analog output signal having a magnitude which varies in time as a function of the respective analog signals from the sense amplifiers.

  • Patent number: 7746519
Abstract: In a method or system for scanning a source image, the source image is scanned with a sensor that comprises multiple line arrays designed to detect a specific color such that a color separation of the source image to be scanned is generated by each line array. The color separations represent the source image in the form of pixels. The pixels of the different separations of the source image are at least partially offset relative to one another. The pixels of the color separations are separately filtered with multiple FIR sub-filters. The filtered pixels of the source image of the multiple color separations are summed into pixels of a target image.

  • Patent number: 7748038
Abstract: Early detection of computer viruses is provided by collecting information about suspicious messages and generating virus outbreak information. In one embodiment, a method comprises receiving the virus outbreak information that has been determined by receiving message information for messages that have characteristics associated with computer viruses, wherein the messages were determined by a virus-check component as not comprising a virus, and mapping the message information received in a specified time period to the virus outbreak information; and when the virus outbreak information indicates initiation of a virus attack, performing a message flow control action for additional messages that have the same characteristics associated with computer viruses as the first messages. As a result, a messaging gateway can suspend delivery of messages early in a virus outbreak, providing sufficient time for updating an anti-virus checker that can strip virus code from the messages.

Abstract: A system of blocks for building a free standing wall. The system includes at least one size of wall block and a generally rectangular column block. The height and depth of the column block are the same as those of the wall block and the length of the column block is twice its depth. The exposed surfaces of the blocks in the free standing wall are textured to a greater extent than the other surfaces. The blocks are used to form a wall with a rectangular column, where the wall is tied into the column to enhance the stability of the wall.

  • Patent number: 7746192
Abstract: Fabrication methods for contoured polyhedral cavities for particle acceleration are disclosed. The process may include: trimming flat sheets to a conformal shape; bending the sheets to form a contour that is axially curved and azimuthally flat; and joining the sheets to form a circumferentially polyhedral cavity that is configured to support a resonant electromagnetic field at cryogenic temperatures. The resulting cavity may have ductile or even brittle superconducting materials with an axially-oriented grain structure at each point on the circumference of the cavity. As part of the assembly process, the sheets may be bonded to a supporting substrate of thermally conductive material having integrated cooling passages. The supporting substrates may be configured to have electrical contact near the cavity openings while having a small gap near the equators of the cavity. Moreover, mode-coupling channels and waveguides may be provided to extract energy from undesired deflection modes.

  • Patent number: 7745307
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing an inkjet head, a silicon dioxide (SiO2) layer is produced on the surface of first silicon member formed from single-crystal silicon. Next, a glass layer formed of borosilicate glass or the like is sputtered onto the surface of the silicon dioxide (SiO2) layer. A silicon oxide (SiOx, x<2) layer is then formed on the surface of a second silicon member. The first and second silicon members and are bonded together by applying heat at about 450° C. with heaters, as a DC voltage is applied across electrode terminals. As a result, a silicon dioxide (SiO2) layer is formed at the interface of the glass layer and silicon oxide (SiOx, x<2) layer, anodically bonding the two layers.
