Patent number: 7744786Abstract: A method and device for manufacturing extremely fine particles and porous materials by controlled low temperature drying. An ambient-pressure and ambient-temperature atomizer atomizes a particle precursor solution to create a precursor mist. The precursor mist and dryer gas are fed into a dryer tube through a tangential inlet (swirl generating inlet). The mixed stream forms a helical flow structure within the dryer tube. The swirling mist undergoes drying and particle formation at a relatively low temperature. The flow continues to swirl and drying process continues with repeated passes until the required drying duration is reached. This dryer structure allows for a compact dryer with full control of residence time.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2009Date of Patent: June 29, 2010Assignee: Nanomist Systems, LLCInventor: Kayyani C. Patent number: 7745332Abstract: Recessed features on a Damascene substrate are filled with metal using plasma PVD. Recessed features having widths of less than about 300 nm, e.g., between about 30-300 nm can be filled with metals (e.g., copper and aluminum), without forming voids. In one approach, the deposition is performed by exposing the substrate to a high-density plasma characterized by high fractional ionization of metal. Under these conditions, the metal is deposited within the recess, without forming large overhang at the opening of the recess. In some embodiments, the metal is deposited within the recess, while diffusion barrier material is simultaneously etched from the field region. In a second approach, recessed features are filled by performing a plurality of profiling cycles, wherein each cycle includes a net etching and a net depositing operation. Etching and depositing parameters are adjusted such that the recessed features are filled without forming overhangs and voids.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 2008Date of Patent: June 29, 2010Assignee: Novellus Systems, Inc.Inventors: Roey Shaviv, Alexander Dulkin, Neil Mackie, Daniel Juliano, Robert Rozbicki

Patent number: 7747579Abstract: Systems and methods for managing electronic data are disclosed. Various data management operations can be performed based on a metabase formed from metadata. Such metadata can be identified from an index of data interactions generated by a journaling module, and obtained from their associated data objects stored in one or more storage devices. In various embodiments, such processing of the index and storing of the metadata can facilitate, for example, enhanced data management operations, enhanced data identification operations, enhanced storage operations, data classification for organizing and storing the metadata, cataloging of metadata for the stored metadata, and/or user interfaces for managing data. In various embodiments, the metabase can be configured in different ways. For example, the metabase can be stored separately from the data objects so as to allow obtaining of information about the data objects without accessing the data objects or a data structure used by a file system.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2006Date of Patent: June 29, 2010Assignee: CommVault Systems, Inc.Inventors: Anand Prahlad, Jeremy Alan Schwartz, David Ngo, Brian Brockway, Marcus S. Publication number: 20100155498Abstract: A fluid handling device, for example, a laminar jet fountain, includes a jet emanating a first stream of substantially laminar fluid. The jet fountain also includes a surface disrupter that includes a body, a water inlet, a valve, a fluid outlet, and a trajectory adjuster emanating a second stream of fluid from the fluid outlet. The second stream of fluid may be positioned to intersect the first stream of fluid and perturb its laminarity. By adjusting a valve controlling the force and volume of flow of the second stream and/or by adjusting the trajectory adjuster, the intersection of the first and second streams may be modified and, therefore, the laminarity of the first stream may be modified. By disrupting the laminar surface of the first stream, light introduced into the first stream may be caused to refract outward from the first stream and thus enhance illumination of the first stream.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 2, 2009Publication date: June 24, 2010Applicant: Zodiac Pool Systems, Inc.Inventor: John T.
