  • Publication number: 20100161783
Abstract: A targeted TCP socket connection-based printer discovery method is disclosed. It does not use network broadcasts; rather, single packets are sent to each IP address. A multi-threaded method is implemented so that each child thread attempts a TCP socket connection with one IP address, and multiple child threads executes simultaneously. If a connection is successful, the child thread records the corresponding IP address in a local record table. After all child threads exits, the parent thread examines each IP address in the local record table to determine whether the IP address is a supported printer not already in the discovered printer list, and adds the IP address to the discovered printer list if appropriate. Alternatively, the steps of determining whether the IP address is supported printer not already in the discovered printer list may be performed by the child threads.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods manipulate target materials within fluids, and may be useful for removing microbubbles and other materials from blood. Ultrasound or acoustic filtering waves may be directed across a flow of blood, and differences in density between the target microbubbles and the blood may enhance separation by driving the lighter matter upward for removal from the blood stream. A disposable acoustically transmissive conduit can replaceably engage an ultrasound transmitter to facilitate sterilization. Exemplary conduits have elongate lumen cross-sections and an axial path resembling a portion of a Mobius strip.

  • Publication number: 20100156454
Abstract: A hot-carrier injection (HCI) test that permits rapid screening of integrated circuit wafers susceptible to possible HCI-induced failures is disclosed. A method is described that determines transistor stress voltages that results in a transistor HCI-induced post-stress drain current differing from a pre-stress drain current within a desired range. These stress voltages are determined using a wafer with acceptable HCI susceptibility. Additional wafers to be tested are first tested using a described method that uses the determined transistor stress voltages to quickly screen the wafers for HCI susceptibility and, if HCI susceptibility is found, then additional conventional HCI testing may be applied to the susceptible wafers.

  • Publication number: 20100158152
Abstract: Described herein is a method of preventing false detections in sensors pulse-Doppler radar mounted on a moving platform. The method comprises filtering each received burst using Doppler filtering to split each received burst into at least a fast channel and one or more slow channels. The slow channel outputs are then used to derive compensation values for the fast channel. In particular, a zero Doppler slow channel is used to derive predicted surface clutter residue information, and a near zero Doppler slow channel is used to derive additional false alarm control attenuation information. Both the predicted surface clutter residue and the false alarm control attenuation information is used to apply compensation to the fast channel and a comparison is done to select the lower of the two values to generate an output signal.
