Abstract: A vehicle interior panel and method of making a vehicle interior panel having a substrate that can be used in either a seam-based or seamless application. The vehicle interior panel includes a substrate having a seam ditch, a first retaining step adjacent a first side of the seam ditch, and a second retaining step adjacent a second side of the seam ditch. The vehicle interior panel includes a bridging support member situated in the seam ditch at least partially between the first retaining step and the second retaining step in the substrate. A decorative covering is situated over the bridging support member, the decorative covering having a continuously contoured seamless surface that extends over the seam ditch.
Abstract: A system and method for generating a virtual soundstage in a listening environment having a compact speaker array centrally positioned in a listening environment. A listener is sitting offset from the speaker array and the virtual soundstage is generated in front of a listener. A signal processing unit is configured to receive an incoming audio signal, to process left and right channel signals of the incoming audio signal to generate a null, and to steer the null toward one ear of a listener thereby generating a virtual sound source that is offset from the center of the listening environment. Virtual sound sources are generated in front of, to the left of, and to the right of the listener.

Abstract: A system and method for providing multi-input multi-output (MIMO) feeder links for a multibeam satellite system. The method includes configuring a X×Y MIMO antenna system using X-antennae having dominant line-of-sight (LoS) of Y-antennae; transmitting, simultaneously, a Tx signal as X Tx signals on a MIMO channel with the X-antennae; receiving the X Tx signals on the MIMO channel with the Y-antennae as Y Rx signals, wherein each of the Y-antennae generate one of the Y Rx signals; and ground-interference processing the X Tx signals or the Y Rx signals to recover the Tx signal; satellite-interference processing the X Tx signals or the Y Rx signals to recover the Tx signal. In the method, the ground interference processing includes countermeasures as either pre-interference processing when the X-antennae are disposed on a ground or post-interference processing when the X-antennae are disposed in a Geosynchronous orbit satellite.
Abstract: A method and system to treat emissions (e.g., smoke, particulate, odor, grease) employs a nanosecond high voltage pulse generator, a transient pulsed plasma reactor, and a DC voltage source that supplies a DC bias voltage, preferably a negative DC bias voltage to a conductor of the transient pulsed plasma reactor. The system is used in a scheme that substantially reduces at least particulate matter in emissions streams, for example emissions streams produced during cooking, for instance in commercial charbroiling processes (e.g., cooking of hamburger meat), or from operation of internal combustion engines. Both a reduction in the size distribution and total particulate mass is achieved using the method and system described herein.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a simulation of the evolution of a tumor in a prostate gland of a subject is based at least on a coupled system of reaction-diffusion equations and a patient-specific geometric model of the prostate gland of the subject. The use of reaction-diffusion equations and a patient-specific geometric model provides a tumor model that predicts the expected progression of prostate cancer in the subject. The tumor model may be used to devise a customized treatment for the subject.

Such a configuration may allow the embolic filter balloon, when deployed, to filter particles greater than a predetermined size from a fluid in the body lumen.
