Abstract: In one embodiment, a system for stimulating the dorsal root ganglion of a patient comprises an elongate flexible implantable stimulation lead adapted to apply the stimulation pulses to the dorsal root ganglion of the patient, wherein the distal end comprises at least one electrode. A first segment and a second segment of the anchor are configured to transition between a collapsed configuration and deployed configuration. A central channel in the first segment and the second segment allows the anchor to be advanced along the stimulation lead from a proximal end toward the distal end while in the collapsed configuration. The central channel of each segment grips onto the stimulation lead in the deployed configuration so that the segment does not move from a deployed position on the stimulation lead. The first segment and the second segment may be deployed on opposite sides of foraminal ligament to anchor the stimulation lead.

Abstract: The system and method for clock synchronization, or calibration, for use in high speed asynchronous serial interfaces. The system and method is automatic, on-line, and occurs in real-time. The process of synchronization may also be started by a user. The calibration scheme is a form of adaptive filtering using 8B10B encoding. Once idle traffic is 8B10B encoded it becomes a stream of K28.5 characters. These characters are used to tune a clock frequency. The process stops, and two devices are synchronized, when the number of idle K28.5 traffic samples are uniformly approximately identical for any of two successive sample intervals.

Abstract: A fluorescence guide plate includes first and second surfaces, an edge surface connecting a periphery of the first surface with a periphery of the second surface, and a dichroic mirror laminated on the first surface. Fluorescent material is dispersed at least one of inside a space defined by the first surface, the second surface, and the edge surface, on the first surface, or on the second surface. The fluorescence guide plate has a plate-shaped structure made of a material with a higher refractive index than an outside. The fluorescence guide plate is configured such that, when irradiation light enters from the first surface, the fluorescence emitted from the fluorescent material exits from the edge surface. A reflection wavelength band of a normal incident beam reflected by the dichroic mirror lies in a range of wavelengths longer than a peak wavelength of a fluorescence wavelength band of the fluorescent material.

Abstract: A system for precision liquid delivery includes a gas reservoir having a known volume. The system has a tightly load-coupled pneumatic driver (a “TLCP driver”) that is configured to receive input power to cause the TLCP driver to move gas into the gas reservoir to produce a gas drive pressure. A valve is configured to couple the gas reservoir with a fluid reservoir having an unknown volume. The valve is further configured to selectively isolate or pneumatically couple pressures in the gas reservoir and the fluid reservoir. A gas-fluid interface couples pressure in the fluid reservoir to pressure in a fluid path. The fluid path is configured so that the fluid drive pressure driving the liquid in the fluid path is substantially the same as the fluid reservoir pressure. The system also has a pressure sensor configured to detect pressure in the gas reservoir and/or the fluid reservoir.
