Abstract: A whitelisting approach to redaction may include receiving a normalization request containing a binary file with complex structured data, such as a workbook or spreadsheet file, from an application on a user device through a redaction service provided by an e-discovery platform. In response to the normalization request, a normalization process starts and runs asynchronously to apply a whitelist to the binary file. The whitelist is configurable and specifies features (e.g., data types, workbook object types, etc.) of the binary file that are considered safe by a party to a lawsuit or investigation. The normalization process includes a pre-processing stage, a transferring stage, and a post-processing stage to push all the data to a visible level and produce a normalized document with the whitelisted features. An artifact containing the normalized document can then be generated and used to render a normalized representation for interactive redaction.

Abstract: Venn diagrams are computed for a given plurality of input sets. The process of computing the Venn diagrams is executed on columnar database systems for efficient execution. The computation of various subsets of the Venn diagrams is performed by determining subsets of various combinations of the input sets and computing set differences of the intersection sets. The process orders the execution of various steps of computing the subsets for the Venn diagram in an order that reduces the number of times an input set is loaded. Information describing various subsets of a Venn diagram is used to render the Venn diagram for display, for example, on a client device.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a web content management system is coupled to remote resources via a framework that has one or more corresponding adapters which enable editing of content by invoking editors which are native to the respective remote resources. The system retrieves a content item from a remote resource and stores a copy of the content item in a local repository, while the original content item remains in the repository of the remote resource. A content item can be selected in in a local authoring tool, causing the system to examine the content item's metadata to identify the source repository and invoke the native editor of the corresponding remote resource, enabling editing of the content item using the native editor. The copy of the content item in the local repository can then be synchronized to the edited version of the content item in the remote resource.

Abstract: Embodiments as disclosed herein provide a search system with an pre-indexing filter that provides both a sophisticated and contextually tailored approach to filtering documents and a corrector that is adapted to alter a document that has been designated to be filtered out from the indexing process and determine if the altered document should be indexed. The alteration of the document may be tied to the attributes, rules or thresholds used to initially filter the document from the indexing process. The filtering criteria can thus be tailored to a specific context such that both the initial filtering and the alteration process may be better suited for application in that context.

Abstract: Embodiments of a multitenant content server that employs embodiments of a database architecture for use in multitenant environments that includes a global partition and a tenant partition for each tenant. These partitions can be accessed using sessions corresponding to the partitions and interfaces associated with the tenants.

Abstract: A method for converting a facsimile includes receiving the facsimile via the public-switched telephone network, generating an enhanced portable document format (EPDF) file that includes information in addition to image information and communicating the EPDF file to an e-mail server. The EPDF file can then be communicated as an attachment to an e-mail message addressed to the intended recipient of the facsimile. A facsimile processing system includes a public-switched telephone network interface, a packet-switched network interface, a mail transfer protocol server, an input agent, a job processor and a translator. The input agent identifies and forwards the incoming facsimile to the job processor. The job processor determines when an EPDF file is desired and communicates appropriate instructions to the translator. The translator generates the EPDF file in response to the instructions and the image information from the facsimile.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for implementing data sovereignty safeguards in a distributed services network architecture are disclosed. Embodiments of a distributed services system may have a number of distributed nodes that each implements a set of services. When a user requests a service at a particular node of a distributed services system, the node is configured to determine if that node is not (or is) data sovereign for a region associated with the user. If the node is not data sovereign for the user's region, the user may be directed to a corresponding service at a node of the distributed service system that is data sovereign for the user's region.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for adaptively splitting electronic chats are provided. One embodiment includes receiving, by an electronic discovery system executing on a computer processor, an electronic chat comprising a set of electronic chat messages, each of the electronic chat messages in the set of electronic chat messages having a timestamp; determining a set of time gaps between the electronic chat messages from the set of electronic chat messages; determining a set of models that model the set of time gaps, selecting an optimum model from the set of models; based on selecting the single Gaussian distribution as the optimum model, determining that the electronic chat comprises a single electronic chat message or based on selecting the Gaussian mixture model as the optimum model, performing an adaptive splitting of the set of electronic chat messages into a set of conversations based on the Gaussian mixture model.

Abstract: Systems, methods and products for automatic translation of content items, where in one embodiment a system includes one or more processors configured to identify components of a content item to be translated (translation items) and components not to be translated (non-translation items). The system generates a key-value pair corresponding to each translation item, where the key-value pair includes a key which comprises a unique identifier and a value which comprises a text string of the translation item. The system also generates a translation template that corresponds to the content item, wherein the translation template matches the content item except that the text string of each translation item is replaced by the key of the corresponding key-value pair. The system then provides a translation of each of the key-value pairs. The system generates a translated content item. By replacing each key in the translation template with the corresponding generated translation.

Abstract: Systems for automatically suggesting content items to an author of a digital page so that they can be added to the page. One embodiment comprises a system having a page editor that launches a component browser to enable viewing of content items stored in a repository. A web content management server extracts textual information from a digital page that is open for editing and analyzes the information to identify words indicative of the page's subject matter. The system generates a query using the identified words and a search engine searches the repository for items associated with the identified words. The content items identified by the search are displayed by the component browser and are selectable to add particular suggested content items to the page.

Abstract: Methods for automatically suggesting content items to an author of a digital page so that they can be added to the page. One embodiment comprises a method that includes opening a digital page in a digital page editor and launching a component browser that enables the viewing of a set of digital content items stored in a content repository. Textual information is extracted from the digital page and the digital assets contained in the page. This information is analyzed to identify words indicative of the page's subject matter. A query is generated based on the identified words and submitted to a search engine, which searches the repository for items related to the subject matter of the page. The content items identified by the search results are displayed to the author, who can select one of the items to add it to the page.

Abstract: Inter-modal messaging communication is described. In one embodiment, a method of communication includes receiving an electronic mail message to be distributed and determining whether the electronic mail message is a multi-modal distribution message. Respective portions of the message may be separated for each mode of distribution. The separated portions may represent portions to be delivered by SMS messaging and facsimile, for example. The method further includes the steps of transmitting a short message comprising the short message portion of the mail message and establishing a conversation comprising conversation attributes. The conversation attributes are referenced, in certain aspects, to maintain a conversation between an originator of the received electronic mail message and a distribution address of short message portion of the mail message. For example, upon receipt of a short message in reply, the short message may be forwarded to an originator of the conversation.

Abstract: Systems, methods and products for performing file retention operations in a system in which a content management system accesses multiple cloud-based data stores that are compliant with a common file transfer protocol, but use different vendor-specific protocols for file retention operations, where a retention framework is coupled between the content management system and the data stores. The content management system performs file access operations by accessing an SDK that generates requests for these operations which follow the common set of protocols. The content management system performs file retention operations by accessing a retention framework that uses the information received from the content management system to identify the targeted file, identify the data store in which the targeted file is stored, and generate a request for a retention operation that is configured according to the data-store-specific retention protocols which correspond to the identified data store.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for the conversion of documents to reusable content types are disclosed herein. Embodiments may extract the content and metadata of the original document and identify a set of reusable resources from the content and metadata. These reusable resources can each be one of a set of content types common across a plurality of document authoring platforms. Each of the content types may be represented using a content type object associated with that content type. The reusable resources identified by the parsing of the content and metadata of the original document may thus be represented with corresponding reusable objects in a content type format common to a plurality of document authoring tools.

Abstract: Methods for generating content summaries in a web content management service, wherein in one embodiment a digital page editor and a component browser are launched to enable selection of a first content item. A summary of the first content item is automatically generated according to parameters that may have default values or values set by a user. The parameters may specify a size for the summary as a percentage of the first content item's size, as a particular number of lines, characters or words, as a size for a particular type of device, etc. The automatically generated summary is provided to the digital page editor, which can edit it and add it to the digital page. The summary is stored in a content repository as an independent summary content item with its own metadata.

Abstract: Systems, methods and products for accessing a set of electronic document templates, identifying instances of common document content such as content items which are semantically similar, and generating component templates containing the common content. Semantically similar content may be identified by analyzing content for factors such as expressed sentiment, included keyphrases, recognizable entities, expressed topics, assigning values to content based on these factors, and determining similarity based on comparisons of the assigned values. Component templates may also be generated based on types of content that include identical text or images, content that has a predefined level of similarity rather than being identical, content that has common rules, scripting logic or variables, metadata, etc. The component templates may be generated automatically, or in response to user instructions.

Abstract: Seamless electronic discovery systems with an enterprise data portal are disclosed herein. An example system includes a document collection system that collects relevant documents from one or more target sources, an investigation platform that processes the relevant documents and a portal system that interfaces the document collection system and the investigation platform to provide end-to-end electronic discovery using tracking units that provide chain-of-custody proof.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for adaptively splitting electronic chats are provided. An e-discovery system comprises a computer processor and a non-transitory, computer-readable medium embodying thereon a set of computer instructions executable by the computer processor. The set of computer instructions includes instructions for: sending a chat query to a remote electronic chat service; receiving an electronic chat responsive to the chat query, the electronic chat embodying a set of electronic chat messages; adaptively splitting the set of electronic chat messages into a set of conversations, each conversation in the set of conversations comprising a subset of electronic chat messages from the set of electronic chat messages; and storing each conversation from the set of conversations as a separate document.

Abstract: Embodiments of search systems that leverage the search or access activities of a core group of users to improve search functionality and performance of such search systems are disclosed. Specifically, embodiments may utilize users' search activity to generate clusters of users and associated labels for those clusters. These clusters can be leveraged during a search to generate suggestions for a user conducting the search.

Abstract: One embodiment comprises a method in which an integrated multi-user analytics server platform is integrated with a dynamic runtime ETL tool to allow dataflows created or developed in a dynamic runtime environment provided by the ETL tool to be saved in a novel dataflow file container. The method includes: presenting a user interface for an analytics server platform; receiving user input via this user interface indicating an action to be performed as to a first dataflow; the analytics server platform accessing a first file container corresponding to the first dataflow, where the first file container is stored in a data store connected to the analytics server platform; in response to receiving the user input, the analytics server platform accessing APIs of the dynamic runtime ETL tool to initiate the ETL tool, which then performs the action with respect to the first dataflow.
