Abstract: The present disclosure provides production processes that can include exposing a carbon-based material to liquid media to form hydrocarbon fuel. Waste to fuel conversion processes as well as waste material processing reactors are provided that can be configured to convert waste to fuel. Heat exchangers, power generation processes and combustion turbine exhaust apparatus are also provided. Fuel generation processes and generation systems are provided. Reaction media conduit systems as well as processes for servicing reactant media pumps coupled to both inlet and outlet conduits containing reactant media, are also provided.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, turn signals are automatically activated in response to signals received from a navigation system, based on the navigation instructions generated by the navigation system. The navigation system of a vehicle (either built into the vehicle or provided as a stand-alone unit) is communicatively coupled with or otherwise integrated with the turn signals of the vehicle. When the navigation system instructs the driver to perform a maneuver (such as making a turn), it can also cause the appropriate turn signal to be automatically activated at the appropriate time and/or distance in advance of the maneuver. When the navigation system detects that the maneuver has been made, or that the driver has ignored the system's instructions, the turn signal can be automatically deactivated.
Abstract: A sub-atmospheric, negative pressure is applied to a growth factor starting material, such as whole blood, to release growth factors and plasma in a non-destructive medium. The released growth factors having a weight of about 70-76 kDaltons are applied in either a filtered or unfiltered state to a wound to promote healing of the wound. The released growth factors are applied topically to the area of a surface wound to effect healing. The released growth factors are also injected into soft tissue, such as a torn tendon, to promote tissue growth and healing. The growth factors are released in one method from a patient's own blood. In another method the growth factors are released from a whole blood source and freeze dried by conventional lyophilization. Then at a later date, the freeze dried product is reconstituted by normal saline for treatment of a patient's wound or for use in a surgical procedure.

Abstract: A volume of platelet-rich blood product is obtained from a volume of anti-coagulated blood to prepare a composition for promoting the growth of hair follicles within skin. A portion of the skin is traumatized to form a treatment area in which stem cells within the hair follicles are activated. A protein matrix is formed from the platelet-rich blood product composition to entrap growth factors. The platelet-rich blood product composition is infused into the treatment area to form a complex between the protein matrix and the growth factors so that the stem cells attach to the complex and proliferate within the hair follicles.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition, and methods of using the composition, for minimizing the harmful effects associated with alcohol consumption. The composition includes a plurality of ingredients, which when combined, have the unexpected effect of increasing one or more metabolic pathways in the individual. As the metabolic rate is increased, alcohol is burned off, or utilized as energy source, and occurs at a considerably much faster rate than under normal physiological means. Abstract: A pet animal collar comprises a processor unit configured to effect illumination patterns comprising a combination of color and blink for an array of light sources on the collar. A memory unit coupled to the processor stores multiple illumination patterns, and a radio receiver unit provides wireless remote access to the processor unit to enable uploading and/or selecting at least one of illumination patterns. In some aspects, the processor unit responds to sensor signals from a sensor unit (such as an accelerometer) on the collar to select or change a displayed illumination pattern. Abstract: A reservoir is supported by a base in a vertical position. A reciprocating member is positioned in the reservoir forming an internal chamber. The chamber receives growth factor starting material through an inlet in the reciprocating member. After the inlet is sealed, the reciprocating member increases the volume of the chamber to apply negative pressure to the growth factor starting material within the chamber to produce activated growth factors. The activated growth factors are extracted from the chamber through an outlet in the reciprocating member. Optionally, the growth factor starting material is held in the chamber to separate into fractions.

The method stores information in a memory, the information indicating for each of a plurality of communication resources within the multi-layer network, one or more layers of the network with which that communication resource is associated. The method monitors the multi-layer network to detect a quality of service event that has occurred at a first of a plurality of communication resources, and in response to the monitoring, uses the information to determine a layer of the multi-layer network that is associated with the first of the plurality of communication resources. Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus include a clustered charge distribution and prioritized charge distribution system for electric vehicles (EVs). Distributed processing units (DPUs) receive member information about an EV or EV user. A power distribution manager (PDM) is coupled to each of the DPUs. The PDM includes a prioritizer. The prioritizer determines a prioritization for charging the EVs based on the member information received by each of the DPUs. Also disclosed is a method for providing clustered charge distribution and charge prioritization for electric vehicles. The method includes sensing whether power is requested by any one of a plurality of EVs within a cluster, generating individual EV-specific information for the EVs using the DPUs, transmitting the EV-specific information to the PDM, and selecting and applying a prioritization algorithm based at least in part on the transmitted information.
