    Abstract: A vehicle (e.g., an ATV/UTV) comprising a body, at least two wheels supporting the body, a power source providing torque to at least one of the wheels, a torque control system for controlling the torque provided to the wheels. The torque control system has a plurality of slip modes, including a low-slip mode and a high-slip mode. A mode selector is provided for selecting one of the plurality of slip modes, and the torque control system defaults to the low-slip mode on vehicle start up. Preferably, the torque control system further includes a medium-slip mode. In another aspect, the vehicle has a continuously-variable transmission including a drive member and a driven member, and a torque control system for controlling the torque provided to the wheels. The torque control system is programmed to calculate an estimated primary torque factor and an estimated secondary torque factor for modifying as base engine torque.

The insert may also include an insert provided toward the first body end. The insert may include a base portion having a radially outer surface. At least one extension may extend outwardly from the radially outer surface and may be encased within a corresponding recess in the body whereby relative planar movement between the body and the at least one extension in a first plane. The retaining portion may have a retaining portion width measured in the first direction and the retaining width may be greater than the throat width thereby inhibiting relative radial movement between the at least one extension and the recess and preventing radial extraction of the extension from the corresponding recess.

Left and right drive shafts transmit power to the left and right wheels, and an input shaft transmits power to the left and right drive shafts. A speed sensor is positioned through (e.g., threaded) the housing assembly such that an inner end of the sensor is positioned inside the differential. In one embodiment, the speed sensor includes left and right speed sensors, and the at least two housings comprise a left housing and a right housing. Preferably, both the left speed sensor and the right speed sensor are positioned in one of the left housing and the right housing.
