Abstract: Systems and methods include providing an annular seal stack for an assembly. The seal stack assembly is disposed between a probe and a housing of the assembly and configured to provide a radial seal between the probe and the housing. The seal stack assembly includes a first metallic seal, a second metallic seal, and a wiper assembly disposed between the first metallic seal and the second metallic seal. The wiper assembly includes a first wiper housing component having a tapered inner surface, a second wiper housing component having a tapered inner surface opposite the tapered inner surface of the first wiper housing component, and a wiper disposed between the first wiper housing component and the second wiper housing component.
Abstract: In a method for repairing or modifying a modular concrete block mold having multiple mold parts, a replacement mold part for a mold part to be replaced of the concrete block mold is additively manufactured and the replacement mold part is installed in the concrete block mold in place of the mold part to be replaced, or a region of a mold part to be adapted of the concrete block mold is additively manufactured and the mold part adapted in this way is then installed in the concrete block mold.
Abstract: An annular tube (or other shape) of elastomeric cellular material comprising elastomeric closed cells having gas infused therein is supported by structures protruding from the bottom surface of a suction stabilizer's head and/or by structures within the interior volume of the annular body of the suction stabilizer, preferably with spacing between the outer diameter of the annular tube of the cellular material and the inner walls of the suction stabilizer body. The gas-infused closed cell material may thus be employed in new suction stabilizer or pulsation dampener or to retrofit existing suction stabilizers or pulsation dampeners designed for a gas-filled bladder.

Abstract: The present invention provides antimicrobial and/or antiviral properties for polymers and synthetic fibers that have stain resistant properties. The synthetic fiber comprises a polymer, such as a copolymer comprising from 85 to 99.5 percent by weight of a polyamide based on the total weight of the fiber and an aromatic sulfonate or a salt thereof present in a range from 0.5 to 10 percent by weight based on the total weight of the fiber, one or more metal compounds or ions thereof dispersed within the copolymer, and a phosphorus compound.

Abstract: A woven fabric comprising spun synthetic polyamide yarn woven in the warp direction and weft direction wherein the polyamide yarn in the woven fabric exhibits a formic acid relative viscosity of at least 60, a halide:copper molar ratio of at least 2.0 and a sodium content of no more than 25 ppm, and wherein the woven fabric exhibits a melt-through resistance at 450° C. of least 2.10 seconds. The invention also provides an airbag made the woven fabric, as well as a method of making the same.

Abstract: A process for producing acetonitrile, the process comprising dehydrating a feedstock stream comprising acetonitrile, acrylonitrile, allyl alcohol, and water (and optionally methanol) in a dehydration (first) column to yield a dehydrated acetonitrile stream comprising acetonitrile and acrylonitrile, less than 1 wt % allyl alcohol, and less than 50 wt % water, and optionally hydrogen cyanide; distilling the dehydrated acetonitrile stream in a lights (second) column to yield a distillate stream comprising lights, and a bottoms stream comprising acetonitrile, acrylonitrile, water, and optionally hydrogen cyanide and acrylonitrile; extracting the distillation bottoms stream in an extraction (third) column to yield a raffinate stream comprising acetonitrile and less than 200 ppm acrylonitrile and an extract stream comprising water and acrylonitrile; purifying the raffinate stream to yield a product acetonitrile stream.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to fluid bed processes that utilize silica particles as a fluidization aid. The process comprises reacting one or more reactants in a reactor comprising a fluid bed to form a product. The fluid bed comprises a catalyst composition comprising a catalyst and an inert additive composition comprising silica particles from 0.5 wt % to 30 wt %, based on the total weight of the catalyst composition. The silica particles are discrete, inert particles that are mixed with the catalyst in the fluid bed.
Abstract: A tertiary amine compound is shown and described herein. The tertiary amine is a reaction product of an isocyanate and a compound bearing an active hydrogen and a bicyclic tertiary amine in its molecule. The tertiary amine compounds have been found to be suitable as catalysts for producing polyurethanes. Also shown and described are processes employing the tertiary amine compounds in a reaction of an isocyanate and an alcohol in the presence of the tertiary amine compounds. Further, also shown and described is a method for making the tertiary amine.
