Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus are described which can safely reduce a laboratory fume hood's minimum airflow and energy consumption when it is determined that the fume hood is not in active use, based on a condition monitoring approach. The condition monitoring approach may incorporate a combination of setback criteria to reliably determine if the fume hood is or is not in use. When a determination has been made that a fume hood is not in use, energy reduction is achieved via automatic methods of hood minimum airflow setback. Fume hood minimum flow reductions are automatically disabled when it is determined that the hood is in active use.

Abstract: Nerve stimulation devices and methods for performing non-invasive nerve stimulation are provided that are particularly well suited for performing non-invasive stimulation of one or both of the great auricular nerve and auricular branch of the vagus nerve through a target nerve junction in the neck of the subject. The nerve stimulation devices use dry electrolyte electrodes that (1) are comfortable to use, (2) suitable for long-term use, (3) avoid delivering painful shocks to the subject, (4) do not require soaking of the electrodes in saline solutions or covering them in sticky or wet gels, (5) do not require skin preparation, and (6) avoid causing muscle contraction in areas outside of the target nerve junction containing the great auricular nerve and the auricular branch of the vagus nerve during use.

The first filled polymer layer may include a resin matrix component, and a first ceramic filler component. The first ceramic filler component may include a first filler material. The first filler material may further have a mean particle size of at not greater than about 10 microns.
Abstract: A terpolymer composition is described that contains a statistical amount of 50-98 wt % of a first repeating AA-BB comonomer unit; 1-25 wt % of a second repeating AA-BB comonomer unit; and 1-25 wt % of a repeating lactam comonomer unit or 1-25 wt % of a third repeating AA-BB comonomer unit, where the terpolymer composition exhibits a high melting point similar to that of PA66 while also exhibiting a significantly reduced crystallization rate and crystallization temperature.
Abstract: Hydrogen sulfide is removed from a gas stream by bubbling a gas stream having ?100 ppm hydrogen sulfide through a scavenging mixture. The scavenging mixture includes: 1) at least one sweetener selected from the group consisting of triazines, oxazolidines, hemiacetals, and mixtures thereof, and 2) at least one reaction catalyst selected from the group consisting of dipropyl amine (DPA), diethyl amine (DEA), dimethyl amine (DMA), pyrrole, and mixtures thereof. The scavenging mixture interacts with the hydrogen sulfide to produce a cleaned gas stream having ? 5 ppm hydrogen sulfide.

Abstract: A composite film may include a first transparent substrate, a dielectric layer and at least two infra-red reflection stacks. The dielectric layer may be located between the at least two infra-red reflection stacks and each of the infra-red reflection stacks may include two titanium blocker layers and a functional layer. The functional layer in each infra-red reflection stack may include silver and may be located between the two blocker layers.
Abstract: Provided herein are processes for purifying TCH in a feed stream, such as an adiponitrile process stream. The processes include a first separating step of separating the adiponitrile process stream to form a first overhead stream comprising low-boiling components and high-boiling components and a first bottoms stream comprising high-boiling components. The processes also include a second separating step of separating the first overhead stream in one or more distillation columns to form a lights stream comprising low-boiling components, a heavies stream comprising high-boiling components, and a TCH stream.
Abstract: The present invention relates to catalyst compositions containing a mixed oxide catalyst of formula (I) or formula (II) as described herein, their preparation, and their use in a process for ammoxidation of various organic compounds to their corresponding nitriles and to the selective catalytic oxidation of excess NH3 present in effluent gas streams to N2 and/or NOx.

Abstract: The subject application relates to a cupseal for a compressor and method for preparing the same. Systems and methods are disclosed that include providing an annular seal for a compressor. The annular seal includes a substantially planar first portion, a first angled portion extending at an angle from the substantially planar first portion, and a second angled portion extending radially at an angle from the first angled portion. The annular seal is formed from a fluorinated polymer and includes at least one additive or filler. The annular seal exhibits reduced wear and an increased lifespan.
Abstract: Systems and methods include providing an annular bimetallic seal for an assembly. The bimetallic seal includes a first sealing component formed from a first material, a second sealing component formed from a second material that is different than the first material, and a joint formed between the first sealing component and the second sealing component. The bimetallic seal is configured to form a radial seal between a first assembly component and a second assembly component formed from dissimilar metallic materials. The coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of the first material and the second material are configured maintain the radial seal at extreme operating temperatures between the dissimilar metallic materials of the components of the assembly.
