Abstract: A polyamide composition comprising from 45 wt % to 95 wt % of polyamide polymer and from 5 wt % to 55 wt % of a modifier comprising a C18-44 dimer acid or a C18-44 dimer amine or a combination thereof. A number average molecular weight of the polyamide polymer is less than 30,000 g/mol. The polyamide composition has a chemical resistance, as measured by exposure to HCl (10%) for 14 days at 58° C., resulting in a weight loss of less than 3.0 wt %; and a moisture uptake of less than about 2.0 wt % moisture at 95% RH. A process for preparing the polyamide composition is also disclosed.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a dynamic sock, pantyhose, athletic pants/leggings or similar clothing, designed to increase propulsion or restrict motion in human gait as would be advantageous in athletic, lifestyle, medical or similar applications. Similarly, the described invention would be advantageous in sedentary applications to restrict joint angle for various pathologies. The exemplary sock includes an integrated propulsion/tension band with increased elastic/compression/tension capability at specific parts of the foot, ankle and lower leg to increase the tension at the dorsiflexion, midstance or plantarflexion phase of the gait cycle or restrict joint excursion in medical applications to thereby increase the rate, amount and force of plantarflexion or dorsiflexion or restrict motion in the sagittal, transverse or horizontal planes.
Abstract: Disclosed are thermoregulatory systems. In particular, thermoregulatory devices are incorporated into garments for warming and cooling a user's body. Thermoregulatory devices are waterproof and breathable, which allow thermogenerators such as hot packs and cold packs, to remain dry while still allowing air flow such that thermogenerators using air-activated chemical reactants remain active. Thermoregulatory devices are particularly useful with garments maintaining the thermogenerators close to the body's core where they will be most effective. The thermoregulation systems advantageously allow a user to selectively position thermoregulatory devices in different regions of the user's body to self-regulate core body temperature.
Abstract: A method for preventing read disturbance accumulation in a cache memory. The method includes accessing a plurality of data lines in a cache set, generating a plurality of corrected data from a plurality of initial data based on a plurality of error correction codes (ECCs), and selecting a respective corrected data of the plurality of corrected data based on a respective way of a plurality of ways. Each of the plurality of data lines includes a respective data field of a plurality of data fields and a respective ECC field of a plurality of ECC fields. The plurality of initial data are stored in the plurality of data fields and the plurality of ECCs are stored in the plurality of ECC fields. Each of the plurality of ways is associated with a respective data line of the plurality of data lines.

Abstract: Filter capsules for showers and sinks used in surgical settings, clean rooms and other contaminant-sensitive settings having modified outlets for improved splash control. Flat, concave, convex, asymmetric concave and asymmetric convex outlet inserts have pluralities of fluid bores with varying orientations to permit enhanced fluid flow control out of the filter capsules including divergent, convergent and mixed divergent/convergent fluid flows. An inlet with an axis offset at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the filter capsule body permits user control over the fluid flow strike point in a sink or shower stall via rotation of the capsule about the inlet connection point. A recessed outlet improves the prevention of contaminant dispersal by recessing the outlet away from contact points and potential contaminant sources.

Abstract: Videogame controllers with smart trigger stops may include: a housing including a trigger, the trigger movable along a path of travel; a sensor configured to detect the position of the trigger and to generate a signal representing trigger position; a processor configured to interpret signals generated by the sensor and cause an output signal to be transmitted to a gaming console; a trigger-stop that is movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position, the trigger-stop in the disengaged position allowing the trigger to move along the entire path of travel, the trigger-stop in the engaged position blocking the trigger from moving along the entire path of travel; and a switch coupled with the housing and the trigger-stop, wherein movement of the trigger-stop from the disengaged position to the engaged position flips the switch and causes the processor to map received signals to generated signals in a different manner.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a process for stabilizing an antimony ammoxidation catalyst in an ammoxidation process. The process may comprise providing an antimony ammoxidation catalyst to a reactor; reacting propylene with ammonia and oxygen in the fluidized bed reactor in the presence of the antimony ammoxidation catalyst to form a crude acrylonitrile product; and adding an effective amount of an antimony-containing compound to the antimony ammoxidation catalyst to maintain catalyst conversion and selectivity; wherein the antimony-containing compound has a melting point less than 375° C. The present disclosure also relates to catalyst compositions and additional processes using the antimony ammoxidation catalyst stabilized by an antimony-containing compound.

Abstract: The present invention provides a powder of spherical particles of crosslinkable polyamide suitable for the technique of selective laser sintering (SLS), and also a process for the production of such a powder of spherical particles of crosslinkable polyamide. The present invention also provides the production of articles by SLS, followed by a crosslinking step, starting from said powder of spherical particles of crosslinkable polyamide.

Abstract: A polymer material including a fluorinated component and a silicone component can exhibit improved performance, such as increased thermal stability. An article can include the polymer material. For example, a coated fabric including the polymer material can exhibit improved dielectric strength. A composition for forming the polymer material can include a dispersion comprising a fluorinated component and an emulsion comprising a reactive silicone component. In an embodiment, a single pass film formed from the composition can have an increased critical crack thickness. A method can include forming a polymer material from the composition.
Abstract: An organic polymer comprising an organic polymer fragment and at least one S-alkylsilyl hydrocarbonthioate group or at least one S-alkylstannyl hydrocarbonthioate group bonded to the backbone of the organic polymer fragment through a C—Si covalent bond and their methods or production are provided. The organic polymer backbone can be derived from the anionic polymerization of monomers containing C—C unsaturation. The silicon or tin atom can be further bonded to two alkoxy groups, two hydrocarbon groups or to one alkoxy group and one hydrocarbon group.
Abstract: The present specification discloses a remotely operated light bar tilting system that adjusts the tilt angle of a light source about an attachment base mounted to a vehicle or other structure. A remotely operated light bar tilting system disclosed herein comprises an actuator coupled to and rotates with the light source to adjust the tilt of the light source by pushing or pulling on a linkage assembly that transmits a force from the actuator to an attachment base. The linkage assembly can include a ternary link or other similar link or assembly of links that can transmit force to the attachment base for tilting the light source. The tilting mechanism is entirely supported by the attachment base creating a compact system that does not require the actuator be mounted to a separate base on the vehicle.

Abstract: Present embodiments provide an electronic fuel injection throttle body which may be used with a variety of engines of different manufacturers. The throttle body may be used to replace mechanical or hydraulically controlled carburetors with electronic fuel injection. The bores or barrels of the throttle body may comprise one or more stackable fuel injectors. The fuel component cover may include a regulator with a housing formed integrally with the fuel component cover or alternatively, a regulator may be located remotely.

Abstract: The invention relates to methods of producing a desired phenotype in a plant by manipulation of gene expression within the plant. The method relates to means which inhibit the level of PK220 gene expression or activity, wherein a desired phenotype such as increased water use efficiency relative to a wild type control plant. The invention also relates to nucleic acid sequences and constructs useful such methods and methods of generating and isolating plants having decreased PK220 expression or activity.
