Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method performed by a within-vehicle-confirming system on-board a vehicle for establishing that a key device is within an interior of the vehicle. The system determines that there is a secure communication link between the vehicle and the key device. The system further provides a vehicle sound signal within the interior of the vehicle. Moreover, the system receives from the key device a key device signal via the secure communication link, which key device signal is derived from a sound signal detected by one or more sensors associated with the key device. The system further compares the vehicle sound signal with the key device signal, and enables a start of the vehicle when the key device signal matches the vehicle sound signal. The disclosure also relates to a within-vehicle-confirming system in accordance with the foregoing, and to a vehicle at least partly comprising such a system.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a dual battery system for in a dual manner powering propulsion of an electric vehicle including a first electric motor coupled in driving relationship to one or more rear wheels and a second electric motor coupled in driving relationship to one or more front wheels. The dual battery system includes a first battery and a second battery. The first battery is configured to provide electric power for driving the first electric motor and the second battery is configured to provide electric power for driving the second electric motor. The present disclosure also relates to an electric vehicle including such a dual battery system.

Abstract: A method for measuring the attraction propensity of fabric including the steps of charging a neutralized test fabric, optionally by contacting with a charging fabric, presenting the charged test fabric a predetermined distance from a static-influenced agent such that at least a portion of the static-influenced agent attaches to the charged test fabric, and determining the quantity of attached static-influenced agent.
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of organomonosilanes bearing both hydrogen and chlorine substituents at the silicon atom by subjecting a silane substrate comprising one or more silanes selected from organomonosilanes, organodisilanes and organocarbodisilanes, with the proviso that at least one of these silanes has at least one chlorine substituent at the silicon atom, to a redistribution reaction in the presence of a phosphane or amine acting as a redistribution catalyst.

Abstract: Clay stabilization compositions include one or a plurality of triamino compounds and/or derivatives thereof, fluids containing an effective amount of the clay stabilization compositions and methods for making and using same.
Abstract: A cross car beam assembly for use with a vehicle includes first and second beam sections that are connected together by a tapered joint. The tapered joint includes an engagement structure formed on the first beam section, and a socket formed on the second beam section that receives the engagement structure. Furthermore, the engagement structure is tapered in a first direction and a second direction different than the first direction, and the socket is also tapered in the first direction and the second direction.
Abstract: A seal assembly for high pressure equipment is disclosed and can include a back-up ring having a head and an extension extending from the head. The extension can include an interior surface that extends axially away from and radially inwardly from the head. The seal assembly can also include a spring energized seal having a jacket having a sealing portion with an annular spring disposed within the sealing portion of the jacket. At least a portion of the jacket fits around the extension of the back-up ring and wherein the back-up ring has a minimum inner diameter, IDBUR, the spring energized seal has a minimum inner diameter, IDSES, and IDSES is less than IDBUR.
Abstract: A base polyamide composition comprising a nylon mixture having caprolactam units from 1 wppb to 50 wppm catalyst composition; and greater than 0.75 wt % residual caprolactam, wherein the base polyamide composition has a delta end group level ranging from 30 ?eq/gram to 90 ?eq/gram.
Abstract: Methods are disclosed for training an installer to cut a film without damaging an underlying substrate. The methods include the steps of applying a stretchable surface-protection film to an electrically-conductive substrate provided with at least one irregularity; and cutting the surface protection film with an electrically-conductive knife which, when in contact with the electrically- conductive substrate, causes one or more notifications to occur. Also disclosed are devices that may be used in carrying out the methods of the invention.
