Abstract: Overhead lifts with control systems are disclosed. The overhead lifts may include a lift actuator communicatively coupled to a control system. The control system may include a control unit comprising a processor and a memory having computer readable and executable instructions and at least one port for communicatively coupling the control unit to at least one of a computer, a network, and a data storage device. The processor executes the computer readable and executable instructions to: determine at least one operating characteristic of the overhead lift and an operating time of the overhead lift as the overhead lift is actuated; determine an accumulated load-time parameter for the overhead lift based on the at least one operating characteristic and the operating time; and provide an indication that a component of the overhead lift requires service based on the comparison of the accumulated load-time parameter to a service constant.
Abstract: Non-naturally occurring peptides are provided that act as a Src SH2 domain antagonist of cardiotonic steroids. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising the peptides are also provided along with vectors encoding the peptides. Methods of treating a Src-associated disease and reducing Src activity in a cell are further provided and include administering or contacting a cell with an effective amount of the peptide.

Abstract: A method, used with an internal combustion engine, of providing fresh air for regeneration of an exhaust aftertreatment device. An air intake diversion line is installed from a point between the throttle and the compressor to a point upstream of the exhaust aftertreatment device. A valve on this diversion line is normally closed. If the engine temperature is above a certain threshold and if the engine is in a “high load deceleration” state, the valve is opened, which diverts fresh air to the exhaust aftertreatment device. The valve is then closed after the pressure in the intake line is relieved.

Abstract: A chemical deposition apparatus having a chemical deposition chamber formed within the chemical isolation chamber includes a gas seal. The chemical deposition chamber includes a showerhead module having a faceplate with gas inlets to deliver reactor chemistries to a wafer cavity for processing a semiconductor substrate. The showerhead module includes primary exhaust gas outlets to remove reaction gas chemistries and inert gases from the wafer cavity. An inert gas feed delivers seal gas which flows radially inwardly at least partly through a gap between a step of the showerhead module and the pedestal module to form a gas seal. Secondary exhaust gas outlets withdraw at least some of the inert gas flowing through the gap to provide a high Peclet number.

Abstract: A porous hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) material with thermally conductive properties, includes a network of interconnected struts and nodes. The porous h-BN material is formed by depositing h-BN onto a catalyst foam using chemical vapor deposition at atmospheric pressure. The catalyst foam with the h-BN layer deposited thereon is then encapsulated with an insulating material. After the insulating material layer is cured, the h-BN structure is cut on an edge and then wet-etched to at least partially remove the catalyst foam.

Abstract: A method for imaging an object by ultrasound elastography through continuous vibration of the ultrasound transducer is taught. An actuator directly in contact with the ultrasound transducer continuously vibrates the transducer in an axial direction, inducing shear waves in the tissue and allowing for real-time shear wave imaging. Axial motion of the transducer contaminates the shear wave images of the tissue, and must be suppressed. Therefore, several methods for correcting for shear wave artifact caused by the motion of the transducer are additionally taught.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an improved method for photobleaching an eye of a subject. The disclosed method may be used in a number of psychophysical test methods, including, but not limited to, measurement of dark adaptation. The improved method for photobleaching involves at least one of the following improvements: (i) the use of a bleaching light emitting a particular wavelength of light or a tailored spectrum of wavelengths; (ii) restricting or otherwise spatially tailoring the region of the retina that is subject to photobleaching; and (iii) utilizing a bleaching light having an intensity that is at or below the intensity of ambient daylight. The present disclosure additionally provides a combination of a photobleaching light and an apparatus to administer a psychophysical test suitable for use in practicing the disclosed methods.
Abstract: A system and method for generating microwaves for microwave enhanced combustion (MEC) input to an MEC antenna of an internal combustion engine. The system uses a directional coupler to deliver the MEC input signal to the MEC antenna and to receive a reflected power signal from the MEC antenna. A feedback path determines a desired frequency, based on the reflected power and using an impedance-matching controller that matches the reflected power to a desired frequency value. Additional inputs, such as various engine conditions, can also be used to determine the desired frequency.
