    Abstract: Provided is a novel Nanofiltration-DiaNanofiltration (NF-DiaNF) system and method for extracting divalent ions from saline water (e.g., seawater) to produce solutions rich in divalent ions (in particular Mg2+, Ca2+ and SO42?), while minimizing the concentrations of undesirable species (e.g., Cl?, Br?, B and Na+). The solutions may be added to water (e.g., desalinated, soft, drinking or irrigation water) to enrich the water with divalent ions, thereby improving its quality.

    Abstract: Power train architectures with low-loss lubricant bearings and low-density materials are disclosed. The gas turbine used in these architectures can include a compressor section, a turbine section, and a combustor section. A generator, coupled to the rotor shaft, is driven by the turbine section. The compressor section, the turbine section, and the generator each include rotating components, at least one of the rotating components in at least one of the compressor section, the turbine section, and the generator including a low-density material. Bearings support the rotor shaft within the compressor section, the turbine section and the generator, wherein at least one of the bearings is a low-loss bearing having a low-loss lubricant.

    Abstract: Herein provided is a new soybean variety designated ‘G13LL-44’ as well as the seeds, plants and derivatives of the new soybean variety ‘G13LL-44’. Also provided are tissue cultures of the new soybean variety ‘G13LL-44’ and the plants regenerated therefrom. Methods for producing soybean plants by crossing the new soybean variety ‘G13LL-44’ with itself or another soybean variety and plants produced by such methods are also provided. ‘G13LL-44’ is a MG VII line with glufosinate tolerance technology, and with resistance to race 3 of the soybean cyst nematode and frogeye leaf spot, and moderate resistance to southern root-knot nematode. ‘G13LL-44’ yielded 1.4 bu/ac (2.3%) greater than its recurrent parent ‘G00-3213’, across 11 environments and 0.5 bu/ac more than the high-yielding check cultivar ‘AG738 RR’. ‘G13LL-44’ provides a high yielding glufosinate tolerant soybean cultivar with superior nematode resistance.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a remediation method for degradation of cadmium in soil. The specific steps are as follows: step 1, determining the content of cadmium in the soil; step 2, crushing and sieving soil from a soil surface, and weighing; step 3, wetting the soil, and removing part of cadmium in the soil to obtain semi-remediated soil; step 4, mixing the semi-remediated soil with a remediation agent, and allowing to stand to obtain improved soil; and step 5, planting Bidens pilosa in the improved soil, and when a growing season is finished, uprooting, and ashing to obtain finished soil. The present invention utilizes anode and cathodes and a remediation agent to treat the cadmium contaminated soil, and plants Bidens pilosa in the soil to achieve a joint effect of electrodynamic remediation, chemical remediation, microbial remediation and phytoremediation to remediate the cadmium contaminated soil.

The mounting device positions the consumer grade controller vertically with respect to the DIN rail to provide improved cooling and reduce DIN rail space. A power cable is secured with a built-in strain relief feature and held in place with a tie wrap to maintain pressure on the cable and preventing it from accidentally releasing. The mounting device, standoffs, and strain relief feature can be injected molded in one assembly for low cost manufacturing while still providing all the benefits that an industrial application requires.
