Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus for image processing for reconstructing a super resolution (SR) image from multispectral (MS) images. A processor to iteratively, fuse a MS image with an associated PAN image of the scene. Each iteration includes using a gradient descent (GD) approach with a learned forward operator, to generate an intermediate high-resolution multispectral (IHRMS) image with an increased spatial resolution and a smaller error to the DSRMS image compared to the stored MS image. Project the IHRMS image using a trained convolutional neural network (CNN) to obtain an estimated synthesized high-resolution multispectral (ESHRMS) image, for a first iteration. Use the ESHRMS image and the PAN image, as an input to the GD approach for following iterations. The updated IHRMS image is an input to another trained CNN for the following iterations. After predetermined number of iterations, output the fused high-spatial and high-spectral resolution MS image.

Abstract: Systems and methods for repairing a surface defect in a metallic substrate can have a transducer that generates acoustic energy and an acoustic energy coupling tool connected to the transducer. The acoustic energy coupling tool receives the acoustic energy from the transducer and oscillates at a frequency corresponding to a frequency of the acoustic energy. A filler material is provided within the surface defect and the oscillation of the acoustic energy coupling tool causes a deforming impact of the acoustic energy coupling tool with the filler material within the surface defect, such that the filler material conforms to at least a portion of an internal surface of the surface defect. Additionally, the acoustic energy coupling tool is used to irradiate the filler material while it is being deformed with the acoustic energy.

Abstract: A method of assessing odors, comprises providing an electronic nose that extracts measurements from odors, from which measurements at least n chemical descriptors are extracted where n is greater than unity, and typically around 18. The electronic nose is applied to an odor, and odor information is extracted. The information is plotted to a first location on an n-dimensional sample space, each dimension being related to a respective one of the n chemical descriptors or otherwise optimized for the particular enose and the measurements it makes; and an assessment of the odor is provided based on the plotted location. The assessment may be a description based on odor describing terms, or may be a chemical description in terms of chemicals that can synthesize the odor, and the odor may then be synthesized based on the chemical description.

  • Publication number: 20200301405
Abstract: A system for detecting an anomaly in an execution of an operation of a machine determines a local matrix profile (LMP) of a test signal with respect to the baseline signals. LMP is a time series of values, each LMP value for a time instance is determined for a segment of the test signal based on a minimum distance between the segment of the test signal with corresponding segments of the baseline signals, such that each LMP value is a value of a local dissimilarity of the execution of the operation of the machine with respect to the baseline executions of the operation of the machine. The system determines an accumulation of the LMP values above an LMP threshold and detects an anomaly when the accumulation above an anomaly detection threshold.
