  • Patent number: 10471752
Abstract: A chamber blade system maximizes ink flow at an anilox doctor blade by including a heating element adjacent the doctor blade to heat ink adjacent the blade. The heating element may be a heat strip next to an anilox doctor blade that heats the ink adjacent the doctor blade and temporarily reduces the ink viscosity to improve the flow of ink in the vicinity of the blade. Doctoring blades with a ceramic tip coating may be configured to allow a small amount of controlled ink flow through that can wet the lands thereby reducing the hydrodynamic back pressures and friction when trying to force the ink into anilox cells.

  • Patent number: 10475348
Abstract: The invention regards a method and a system for assisting a person in acting in a dynamic environment. At first, information on states at least two entities in a common environment is obtained. A future behaviour of each of the entities is then predicted based on the obtained information and a time to event for at least one predetermined event involving the at least two entities and a position of occurrence of the event relative to the person is estimated. Then, a signal indicative of the relative direction of the predicted event with respect to the person and indicative of the time to event for driving an actuator is generated, the signal causing a stimulation being perceivable by the person by its perceptual capabilities, wherein the time to event is encoded such that the signal's saliency is the higher the smaller the time to event is.

  • Patent number: 10470926
Abstract: A cyclic aperture flow regulator system has an adjustable fluid aperture in a fluid path connecting the aspiration port of a surgical probe with a vacuum source. The cross-sectional area of the fluid aperture can be modified by an actuator. The actuator is controlled to modify the cross-sectional area of the adjustable fluid aperture in cycles. During each cycle, the fluid aperture cross-sectional area is substantially reduced or closed. The cycles occur at a rate fast enough to produce a substantially steady flow, with minimum flow ripple and pressure ripple.

  • Patent number: 10476524
Abstract: A method and apparatus is described for assigning columns of an LDPC H matrix to a plurality of decoding logics for efficient decoding of codewords. The rows of the LDPC H matrix are evaluated in a number of different orderings, and for each row in each ordering, a number of columns containing non-zero circulants are determined that cannot be evenly distributed to a plurality of decoding logics. As each row is evaluated, one or more columns of the LDPC H matrix are assigned to temporary bins for storage. After the LDPC H matrix has been evaluated a plurality of times, the arrangement that resulted in the fewest number of “mismatched” columns is selected, and the columns of the LDPC H matrix that were assigned to the temporary storage bins for that particular row arrangement is used to assign the columns in the bins to the plurality of decoding logics.

  • Patent number: 10473770
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method for operating a light detection and ranging (LiDAR) system in an automobile provides a more accurate range estimate by combining multiple processed waveforms which are weighted according to their signal to noise ratios. At least one waveform is transmitted within a first time period, and reflected of an object. The reflected waveform is received and processed to improve the signal to noise ratio (SNR). The processing produces a higher number of output waveforms, such as through processing convolution. The SNR for each of the output waveforms is determined. An estimated range to the object from each output waveform is determined. The estimated ranges are then weighted according to their SNRs, and combined to provide an final determined range to the object.
