  • Patent number: 10456475
Abstract: Cell penetrating peptides (CPPs) are established as a strategy to move cargoes into the interior of eukaryotic cells by engaging import machinery on the cell surface. In most cases the CPP is covalently linked to the cargo; it is common to express cargo proteins with a CPP extension. In some experiments a non-specific interactions (e.g., hydrophobic interactions) have been used to form CPP-cargo complexes, but this has numerous drawbacks. Transport is less efficient and the lack of specificity means that other macromolecules in the medium will also be internalized. This application describes the use of specific CPP labeled adaptor proteins that can be used to move a wide variety of cargoes into the cell interior. The prototype adaptor protein is calmodulin; it is small, stable and easily produced, and binds short (17 amino acid) targets with high affinity in the presence of calcium. A cargo produced with a calmodulin binding tag can be internalized efficiently by CPP tagged calmodulin.

  • Patent number: 10460951
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for controlling gas flow in a semiconductor manufacturing chamber. The method includes flowing a reactant gas thorough an inner feed and a tuning gas through an outer feed surrounding the inner feed, such that the gases do not mix until both are introduced in the chamber. Further, the flow of the reactant gas is convective, and the flow of the tuning gas is directed at an angle from the direction of the reactant gas, providing a delivery of the tuning gas in closer proximity to the RF power before further mixing with the reactant gas. Radio frequency power is provided to the electrode to ignite a plasma using the reactant and tuning gases. The diffusive flow of the tuning gas enables the tuning gas to be dissociated by the RF power allowing for control of the local residence time variation and preferential spatial dissociation patterns with respect to the local residence time of the reactant gas.

  • Patent number: 10459117
Abstract: An extended subspace method for inverting geophysical data to infer models for two or more subsurface physical properties, using gradients of an objective function as basis vectors for forming model updates. The extended set of basis vectors provides explicit mixing between gradient components corresponding to different medium parameters, for example P-wave velocity and an anisotropy parameter. In a preferred embodiment, off-diagonal elements of the mixing matrix may be scaled to adjust the degree of mixing between gradient components. Coefficients of the basis vector expansion are determined in a way that explicitly accounts for leakage or crosstalk between different physical parameters. The same extended subspace approach may be used to make further improvement to the model updates by incorporating well constraints, where well log data are available.
