Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a composition for preventing or treating fibrosis including an inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinase 17 (CDK17) expression or activity. According to the present disclosure, the inhibitor of CDK17 expression or activity significantly reduces collagen production and cell activity and viability in activated hepatic stellate cells (liver fibrosis cell model), renal tubular epithelial cells (renal fibrosis cell model) in which fibrosis is induced by TGF-? treatment, and alveolar epithelial cells (lung fibrosis cell model) in which fibrosis is induced by TGF-? treatment, indicating that the composition of the present disclosure has an excellent effect in preventing or treating fibrosis.

Abstract: There is provided an analog-stochastic converter for converting an analog voltage signal into a pulse signal having a corresponding probability. The analog-stochastic converter is implemented using a threshold switching element and a simple logic circuit, thereby reducing a size of the analog-stochastic converter and enabling a low power operation thereof. In addition, in order to update a weight, instead of an analog signal, a probability signal is applied using the above-described analog-stochastic converter, thereby updating a weight in a fully-parallel manner in a synaptic element array having an intersection structure. Accordingly, it is possible to shorten a time for weight update.

Abstract: Synthetic brochosomes can be prepared by disposing a monolayer of first polymer microspheres on a substrate and forming a layer of metal on the monolayer of the first polymer microspheres. A monolayer of second polymer microspheres is then disposed on the layer of metal to form a template. The second polymer microspheres are smaller than the first polymer microspheres. A brochosome material is then electrodeposited on the template. The brochosome material is selected from the group consisting of a metal, a metal oxide, a polymer or a hybrid thereof. The first polymer microspheres and the second polymer microspheres are then removed to form a coating of synthetic brochosomes of the brochosome material on the substrate.

Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for manufacturing customized cardiovascular devices. In one implementation, patient cardiovascular data for a patient is received at a controller. The patient cardiovascular data is captured using a patient interface. A printing profile for a cardiovascular medical device is received at the controller. A patient specific three-dimensional model of the cardiovascular medical device customized for the patient using the patient cardiovascular data and the printing profile is generated. The patient specific three-dimensional model of the cardiovascular medical device is sliced into a plurality of outlines using the controller. Print instructions based on the plurality of outlines are generated using the controller. A polymeric material is manipulated according to the print instructions into a customized polymeric cardiovascular medical device for the patient.

Abstract: A sensor for detecting properties of a gas, gas mixture, or a gas or gas mixture containing particles, all collectively referred to as a “gas”. Abstract: Methods and systems for imaging a target. In some examples, a system includes an optical modulator configured for applying, at each time of an exposure window, a respective optical modulation pattern to a received image of the target to output a modulated image.
