Abstract: Provided are a solid polymeric electrolyte and a lithium battery with the same. The electrolyte paste may be formed by controlling composition ratio, dispersion, and thickness of the electrolyte paste to have physical properties suitable for the printing process. The use of the printing process enables to simplify a process of fabricating the lithium battery. In addition, the lithium battery provided with the solid polymeric electrolyte can exhibit improved performance (for example, in electrode-electrolyte interface stability and an internal short property), regardless of the shape of the solid polymeric electrolyte. For example, the lithium battery may exhibit improvement in interface stability between the electrode and the electrolyte and be configured to suppress an internal short therein.

Abstract: A system for collecting biomass for the production of ethanol is disclosed. Also disclosed is a method for collecting biomass. The method comprising: harvesting biomass with a combine, wherein a first portion of the biomass is substantially forced against the ground and a second portion of the biomass passes through the combine and forming bales comprising the second portion of the biomass. According to an aspect, the bales comprise a majority of the second portion of the biomass and a small part of the first portion of the biomass.
Abstract: Fused cyclopentane—4-substituted 3,5-dioxalane lactone compounds useful as an intermediate in the synthesis of prostaglandin analogs are provided. The compounds have the formula A: wherein R represents an aryl group such as p-methoxyphenyl. This compound can be reacted with a lower alkyl aluminum compound to open the dioxalane ring and reduce the lactone to lactol, without over-reducing to diol. The resulting compound can be functionalized to insert chemical side groups of target prostaglandins, adding the required ?-side chain and then the required ?-side chain sequentially and independently of each other. The compounds and process are particularly suitable for preparing lubiprostone.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for exchanging data in a heterogeneous wireless communications environment. A mobile device initiates a first communication session with a first radio access network (RAN) that is connected to a wired network comprising a remote fixed node (RFN). A first set of data exchange transactions with the RFN is initiated by the mobile device during the first communication session to exchange a first set of data. The mobile device then initiates a second communication session with a second RAN that is likewise connected to the wired network. A second set of data exchange transactions with the RFN is initiated by the mobile device during the second communication session to exchange a second set of data contemporaneously with the first set of data exchange transactions.
Abstract: A system and method classify a test image. At least one processor receives a data graph computed from the test image. Further, a graph lattice is received. The graph lattice includes a plurality of nodes, each including a subgraph, a weight and at least one mapping of the subgraph to data graphs of a plurality of training images. The training images correspond to a plurality of classes. The data graph of the test image is mapped by the subgraphs of the nodes. Mappings between the graph lattice and the data graphs of the training images are compared with mappings between the graph lattice and the data graph of the test image to determine weighted votes of similarity between the data graphs of the training images and the data graph of the test image. The class of the test image is determined from the weighted votes.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to an assay for the determination of epigenetic profiles, particularly epigenetic profiles associated with a pathological condition. Even more particularly, the present invention provides an assay to detect epigenetic profiles within the Fragile X Mental Retardation (FMR) genetic locus indicative of a pathoneurological condition such as pathoneurodevelopmental and pathoneurodegenerative conditions. The epigenetic profiles can also identify potential non-neurological conditions. Kits and assays for medicaments also form part of the present invention as do computer programs to monitor changes in epigenetic patterns and methods for screening for agents which modulate epigenetic modification.
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for hydroprocessing feedstreams containing both sulfur-containing mineral oils and biomass-derived feedstocks in a single reactor configuration. The process produces a desulfurized, deoxygenated and dewaxed hydrocarbon product having reduced oxygen content, increased iso-paraffin content, low n-paraffin content, and good cold flow properties. In preferred embodiments, the processes herein utilize water tolerant hydrodewaxing catalysts in order to prevent deactivation and/or catalyst loss due to water produced during the deoxygenation reactions in the biomass components.
