Abstract: In a digital receiver, a noise attenuation and signal magnitude mapping variable amplifying unit includes a filter and an amplifier, amplifies and band-bass filters an analog signal and attenuating white noise and an interference signal other than a band signal. An ADC performs sub sampling on a carrier frequency of a desired signal and performs oversampling on the band of the desired signal by using a sampling frequency to convert the analog signal which has passed through the noise attenuation and signal magnitude mapping variable amplifying unit into a digital signal of a direct conversion frequency band or an intermediate frequency band. The ADC has a dynamic range for processing both the desired signal and an undesired signal adjacent to the desired signal. A digital signal processing unit converts a signal frequency of the digital signal or digital-filters an undesired signal within the digital signal and processes the digital signal by digitally adjusting a gain.

Abstract: The described embodiments relate generally to methods and apparatus for use in determining solderability of an electrical component. One particular aspect relates to apparatus comprising a vacuum chamber, a load sensor, a platform and a control module. The load sensor has a contact portion disposed within the vacuum chamber and the platform is disposed in relation to the contact portion and has a component mounting surface and a mounting member for mounting an electrical component to the component mounting surface. The control module causes relative movement between the platform and the load sensor so that a contact surface of the electrical component is brought into close proximity with the contact portion. When the contact portion has solder thereon and the solder is brought into contact with the contact surface, the load sensor measures force arising from wetting of the solder to the contact surface.

Abstract: There is provided a method for Agrobacterium-mediated gene transformation of a host cell. The method uses an Agrobacterium which expresses a VirD2 protein resistant to cleavage by a caspase. The VirD2 protein is modified by replacement of an aspartic acid residue with an alternative amino acid at one or more of the caspase cleavage sites within the protein amino acid sequence. This method improves the low efficiency of Agrobacterium-mediated gene transfer in certain plant cells and in animal cells caused by caspase cleavage of the VirD2 protein. The modified VirD2 protein, a gene for its expression and a method of producing a protein of interest by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of a host cell are also described.

Abstract: A server and a terminal enabling channel capacity estimation in a High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) network and a method of controlling the server and the terminal are provided. More particularly, when transmitting data between both terminals in an HSDPA network, a server end may transmit a packet pair of the same size and a client end may measure a time difference between the packet pair and thereby proceed filtering. Through this, it is possible to estimate the channel capacity. Therefore, it is possible to prevent data transmission from exceeding the channel capacity in the HSDPA to thereby prevent a packet loss and to effectively use a channel.

The method for fabricating semiconductor package dopes a mixture including the polymer material and the solder particle on the substrate in which the terminal is formed and applies heat, and thus the solder particle flows (or diffuses) toward the terminal in the heated polymer resin to adhere to the exposed surface of the terminal, i.e., the side surface and upper surface of the terminal, thereby forming the solder layer. The solder layer improves the adhesive strength between the terminal of the semiconductor chip and the terminal of the substrate in the subsequent flip chip bonding process.
