Abstract: Provided is a Media Access Control (MAC) technology that may improve a data transmission performance in an asynchronous sensor network. The MAC technology may increase a waked-up time interval of a reception node to thereby continue to receive traffic from a transmission node, and change a frequency band where data is transmitted and received to thereby reduce occurrence of collision. Also, when the wake-up time interval of the reception node is similar to a wake-up time of a neighboring node, the wake-up time interval of the reception node may be moved to another time interval, thereby improving the data transmission performance.

  • Publication number: 20100322366
Abstract: Provided is a method for detecting frame sync and frame structure in a satellite broadcasting system, which acquires an estimated value for detecting frame structure and frame sync and overcomes distortion of correlation analysis values by summing differential correlation values for SOF positions in consideration of the variable frame length, and selecting a maximum value in a channel environment with low signal-to-noise ratio and high frequency error. SOF is a sync word indicating the start point of a frame. The method includes the steps of: acquiring SOF differential correlation value sequences; acquiring sums (di,t) of the correlation values normalized for SOF positions based on the number of symbols per frame by using the above-generated SOF differential correlation value sequences; and selecting a maximum value (dz,x) among the sums of correlation values, detecting z as a frame sync position, and detecting x as a frame structure index.

Abstract: The prior art describes the application of mechanical oscillators for the measurement of corrosion and/or deposition. Mechanical oscillators employ the use of resonance parameters, frequency and the quality factor Q, for the measurement of corrosion or deposition. However, the prior art does not consider the required precision for measuring frequency or Q in the presence of noise to make these measurements. In particular, the ability of the mechanical oscillator to measure small amounts of metal loss or deposition is not only dependent upon the mechanical design but is limited by the precision in determining the resonance frequency and Q. The present invention discloses methods for measuring these resonance parameters with a high precision in the presence of noise. This degree of precision is required to maximize the utility of these devices as sensitive probes for corrosion and deposition (fouling) measurement.

Abstract: A liquid level detection method includes capturing an image of a liquid surface, a structural surface, and graduation markings provided on the structural surface using an image-capturing device to thereby obtain an initial image. Subsequently, the initial image is processed so as to generate a processed image, and a level reference value of the liquid surface is obtained from the processed image. The level reference value represents a height of the liquid surface in terms of inherent characteristics of the processed image. Lastly, a liquid level of the liquid surface is calculated based on a relative proportional relation among the level reference value, an overall height of the processed image interms of the inherent characteristics of the processed image, and dimensions of any one of the initial and processed images relative to the graduation markings.
