Abstract: A method for determining a rotational orientation change using an NMR gyroscope includes making use of a measure of determining, in a vapor cell, which is filled at least with a gaseous first element and a gaseous second element having non-vanishing nuclear spin, a nuclear spin component of the second element in the second direction and a nuclear spin component of the second element in a third direction. The second direction and the third direction are perpendicular to a first direction, which corresponds to the direction of the static magnetic field and to the polarization direction of the nuclear spin of the second element. Moreover, the second direction corresponds to the direction of an applied alternating magnetic field, the frequency of which corresponds to the Larmor frequency of the Larmor precession of the nuclear spin of the second element about the static magnetic field.

Abstract: A method reduces false-positive particle counts detected by an interference particle sensor module, which has a laser and a light detector. The method including: emitting laser light; providing a high-frequency signal during the emission of the laser light, a modulation frequency of the high-frequency signal being between 10-500 MHz; detecting an optical response by the light detector in reaction to the emitted laser light while providing the high-frequency signal, which is arranged such that a detection signal caused by a macroscopic object positioned between a first and second distance is reduced in comparison to a detection signal caused by the macroscopic object at the same position without providing the high-frequency signal. The high-frequency signal is provided to a tuning structure of the particle sensor module which is arranged to modify a resonance frequency of an optical resonator comprised by the laser sensor module upon reception of the high-frequency signal.

Abstract: A method for operating a vehicle brake system including a brake booster and an electronic traction control device, which is used as a fallback level in a malfunction of the brake booster. The position of an accelerator pedal is ascertained when a malfunction of the brake booster is detected, and under the precondition that the accelerator pedal is released, a predefined initial pressure is built up in a pressure chamber of a master brake cylinder of the vehicle brake system with the aid of the traction control device so that a deceleration of the vehicle is induced. A control unit which is designed to carry out the method, and a vehicle having a vehicle brake system and a control unit, are also described.

Abstract: A hydraulic circuit includes a prime mover that is configured to generate an oscillating flow of hydraulic fluid, and an actuator that is driven by the prime mover and configured to provide oscillating motion and to be connected to a load in each direction of the motion. The hydraulic circuit also includes a reclamation device that is disposed in the hydraulic circuit between the prime mover and the actuator. The reclamation device captures and stores a portion of hydraulic fluid displaced from the actuator during a transition between opposed motions, where the portion of hydraulic fluid corresponds to an amount of hydraulic fluid equal to a volume of fluid required to compensate for compression of fluid within the hydraulic circuit due to system pressure and load pressure. The stored fluid is used by the circuit in a subsequent motion.

Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for classifying time-series data provided to a machine-learning model from a continuous sensor signal. The data may be “windowed” or “divided” into a smaller data segment using a first stage classifier where an “event of interest” may be identified. The first stage classifier may employ an algorithm that prohibits false negative identifications. The data segment detected as including an event of interest may then be transmitted to a second stage classifier operable to performs a full classification on the data segment. The multi-stage network may require less power and a less complex structure.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a sensor assembly for a vehicle, comprising a sensor element for detecting a measurement variable and at least two control devices, each having a measuring circuit and a power source. A first connection of the sensor element is connected to the power source of a first control device. A second connection of the sensor element is connected to a ground connection via a measuring circuit of a second control device. Abstract: Devices and methods associated with these devices for significantly improving the efficiency of an existing or new filter having a granular media filter bed. The methods and devices are designed to increase the height and hence overall volume of the filter bed to allow for longer filtration runs between washing or cleaning cycles of the granular media filter bed. One embodiment includes a multi-wash trough adapter that upon removal of an existing deep wash trough connects two shallow wash troughs or two shallow wash trough channels to an existing wash trough opening formed in a wall of a filter compartment. The shallow members have a height significantly less than the height of the existing deep wash trough, e.g., one third to one half of the height of the existing deep wash trough allowing the volume of the granular media filter bed to be significantly increased.
