Abstract: A method for assessing validation points for a simulation model. The method includes: obtaining a reference measured value for at least two measuring points; determining a model form error for each of the at least two measuring points, based on a deviation between the reference measured value of the particular measuring point and a probability distribution for a simulation value at the measuring point, the probability distribution being obtained from the simulation model; forming a metamodel of the model form errors, based on the determined model form errors for the measuring points; determining an uncertainty of the metamodel for at least one further data point that is not contained in the measuring points; and defining the at least one data point as sufficient for a virtual validation if the uncertainty of the metamodel at the at least one further data point is less than a predefined limiting value.
Abstract: A method for supporting an attentiveness and/or driving readiness of a driver during automated driving operation of a vehicle, including computing a failure probability value using at least one read-in map information signal, environmental condition signal, and/or probability signal. The failure probability value represents a failure probability of a driver assistance system for performing an automated driving operation. The probability signal represents an error probability and/or failure probability of at least one vehicle sensor of the driver assistance system. The method also includes determining a comparison parameter in response to the computed failure probability value, the comparison parameter representing the result of a comparison of an extent of a necessary driving requirement on the traveled travel route of the vehicle to a degree of instantaneous driver attentiveness. The method also includes providing an advance warning signal in response to the determined comparison parameter.

Abstract: A squeegee for spreading a conductive paste across a stencil during a stencil printing process is provided. The stencil covers an underlying base such that the conductive paste is spread across the stencil and into openings in the stencil to contact the underlying base. The squeegee has a leading surface at the front of the squeegee, a trailing surface at the rear of the squeegee, and a bottom surface. The bottom surface is oriented at an oblique angle relative to the leading surface and the trailing surface. In some embodiments, a rear corner or edge of the squeegee is the contact point between the squeegee and the stencil. Some of the paste can be collected beneath the bottom surface and scraped along with the squeegee.

Abstract: A thermal state of a plurality of zones of the building is updated according to a building thermal model and information received from temperature sensors of the building. Predicted occupant counts for an upcoming plurality of time slots for each of the plurality of zones are updated using actual occupancy counts for each of the plurality of zones. A misprediction type distribution for the upcoming plurality of time slots for each of the plurality of zones is updated, the misprediction type distribution indicating misprediction for true negatives, false positives, false negatives, and true positives. A total misprediction cost expectation is updated according to the predicted occupant counts and the misprediction type distribution. HVAC power for each of the plurality of zones is determined to optimize occupant thermal comfort weighted according to the predicted occupant counts while minimizing the total misprediction cost expectation. HVAC operation is controlled per the HVAC power.
