Abstract: Sanitary applicances with a casing, such as bath tubs, shower trays or washbasins, are glass fiber- and asbestos-free, and are further characterized in that the reinforcing material is 1.5 to 10 mm thick and consists of one or two layers. The one layer or the first layer of a multilayered reinforcement is obtained by hardening a first polylmerizable, cole-hardenable, reactive (meth)acrylate system sprayed on the back of the acrylic glass moulding. The (meth)acrylate system contains as filler hollow microparticles, preferably made of plastics, filled with an inert gas. The composition of the (meth)acrylate system is defined by the invention. The disclosed sanitary appliances meet all requirements of the DIN EN 19 norm and can be recycled.

Abstract: An extrusion die has a distributing tool; a profiling nozzle; and at least three melt-flow ducts; a first melt-flow duct is routed around a second melt-flow duct or the distributing tool using a branch and is merged again downstream from the branch; and a third melt-flow duct opens into the second melt-flow duct. The extrusion die is suitable for extrusion of a hollow-chamber profiled panel of a thermoplastic plastic with a layered structure which comprises a top and bottom layer of a first plastic melt; and an intermediate layer of a second plastic melt disposed in an interior of a hollow chamber profile. The first plastic melt is allocated to the first melt-flow duct and to the second melt-flow duct and the second plastic melt is allocated to the third melt-flow duct. During the extrusion the second plastic melt is deposited onto the first plastic melt upstream from or in the region of the branch, and a distribution of the deposited second plastic melt is regulated using the distributing tool.

Abstract: A process and device for the stable width wise regulation of the bulb angle in connection with the extrusion of sheets of heat-sensitive plastic (2) in an extrusion device with a calendar opening formed by two intake rollers (3,2) and a traversing measuring device (7) provided according to the calendar slot by altering positioning elements on the extrusion device. At least two traversing measurements of a parameter correlating with the bulb angle are started consecutively on the heat-sensitive plastic sheet synchronously with the positioning of one of the two calendar rollers. Like measurement conditions therefore exist and the deviation of the measured values obtained on the basis of the measurements in relation to specified expected values is used to regulate the bulb angle over its width by altering a setting element on the extrusion device.

Abstract: The invention relates to a polymethacrylate matte-finish surface and comprised of:
A thermoplastic polymer matrix A, in the amount of 99.9-30 wt. %, comprised of a hard phase (a1) and a tough phase (a2); and
Latex particles of a thermoelastic polymer B, in t. of 0.1-70 wt. %, incorporated in the said matrix A, which particles give rise to the matte effect.
Preferably the hard phase (a1) may contain low molecular weight and/or polymer-bound UV-absorbers. The difference between index of refraction of the thermoplastic polymer A and that of the thermoelastic polymer B is at most 0.02. Despite its matte finish, the film has high transparency, is weather resistant, has low incidence of white fracture when buckled or folded, and has impact strength which does not degrade upon cooling or heating. At the same time, the film is effective as a UV filter, to protect substrates which are sensitive to UV irradiation.
