    Abstract: A bollard luminaire comprising a ground-mountable tubular vertical housing having a base portion and an upper portion, an annular lens member atop the housing in substantial axial alignment therewith, an upper reflector at the top of the lens member directing and reflecting light through the annular lens member, the housing and lens member being configured and the upper reflector positioned such that it receives upwardly directed light from below, and an LED module inside the base portion of the housing, the LED module being substantially centrally positioned, oriented for upward light emission, and having LED/optical-element sets themselves providing substantially vertically collimated light. In preferred embodiments, the housing is light-transmissive.

    Abstract: A hinging mechanism attaching an access panel to a housing is provided that has a latching device rigidly mounted to the inner surface of the panel and releasably pivotally secured to the interior surface of the housing, whereby the panel is detachable from the housing and free to move between open and closed positions. Preferably, the mechanism further includes a linkage member movably mounted to the interior surface, whereby the mechanism has articulation at independent points between the housing and the panel. The mechanism is also preferably one where the latching device includes a latch-bracket and a latch, the latch being pivotally attached to the latch-bracket.

    Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a lighting fixture is provided having a mount housing with at least one pivot portion and a support panel with at least one hook portion, the support panel being attached to the mount housing in a manner where the hook portion can slide and pivot with respect to the pivot portion. The pivot portion includes a rail, a tab-slot and a tab-rest, the tab-slot and tab-rest being adjacent to the rail and the hook portion has a hook member and a tab-stand adjacent to the hook member. The support panel is free to move between an open and a closed position and, preferably, detachable from the mount housing. A method for mounting a lighting fixture is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A retrofit canopy luminaire assembly adapted for downward illumination and having a housing with inwardly-directed ledges near the lower edges of the housing. The luminaire has at least two support brackets secured to at least one of the ledges; a face plate removably secured to the brackets on the lower side of the housing; and a hanging tether attached to one of the brackets and to the face plate. The face plate is adapted to hold lighting fixture components. When the face plate is removed from the brackets, the face plate hangs freely held by the tether to allow free access to the inside of the luminaire.
