Abstract: A data hiding system is described for hiding data within an audio signal. The system can be used for watermarking, data communications, audience surveying etc. The system hides data in an audio signal by adding artificial echoes whose polarity varies with the data to be hidden. In one embodiment, each data value is represented by a positive and a negative echo having different delays. A receiver can then remove the effects of natural echoes and/or periodicities in the audio signal by differencing measurements obtained at the different delays.

Abstract: A method and apparatus providing interconnectivity between several telephone networks. The apparatus receives a telephone transaction initiation message that originated with a telephone set located in a first network. The initiation message bears an originator's registration number identifying a subscriber whose home registration is located in a second network, the first and second networks using disparate signaling protocols. The apparatus then queries the originator's home registration database using the network protocol of the second network to determine the registration status of the originator. Finally, the registration status information is forwarded to the first network in the network protocol of the first network.

Abstract: An exterior rear view mirror for a motor vehicle, which exterior rear view mirror consists of at least two components which are connected to each other. At least one connection between the components includes at least one connecting arrangement, which is suitable for transfer of both transverse forces and compression forces and tractive forces, as well as transfer of moments from a first component to a second component. The connecting arrangement comprises a spring arranged on the first component, with inclined flanks, diverging at least in sections, seen from the first component, and a receiving groove, which is assigned to the spring, provided on the second component. The spring engages in the receiving groove. The spring and the receiving groove comprise a complementary, positive interlocking cross-section, at least in sections, so that the inclined flanks and the receiving groove form a rearward engagement normal to the receiving groove.
Abstract: A system is provided for pushing content to a terminal located within a mobile network or a private network. The system includes a network node, such as a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) proxy, located across a public network from the network including the terminal. The network node is capable of subscribing to a push service on behalf of the terminal such that the network node is also capable of receiving push content in accordance with the push service. Thereafter, the network node is capable of establishing a network-initiated data session with the terminal. In response to the network-initiated data session, the network node is further capable of registering the terminal such that the terminal is capable of receiving the push content based upon the registration.
