Abstract: A method and system for electronically facilitating loan closing transactions that include sub-transactions involving third parties. The method and system provide functionality to quickly and easily order a sub-transaction and bill the respective party, or pay for the sub-transaction directly from various payment systems. An interactive closing document updates automatically as different services and sub-transactions are ordered. Designated parties to the transaction make and approve changes and updates to the interactive document as sub-transactions are completed and billed. The interactive document receives information from the earlier stages of the loan or mortgage transaction, and incorporates the information into the interactive closing document. Upon approval by all parties, at the closing of the transaction, the interactive closing document is generated as a hard copy for signature.

Abstract: An apparatus (14-1, 50) for encrypting image data is disclosed, which includes: a processor (42) configured to divide encoded still image data or video data into a first element (a) and a second element (b); generate a first key (k1); generate a second key (k2) for at least every one image of the still image data or video data; encrypt a first portion (b1) of the second element (b) of the image using the first key (k1) and the second key (k2) corresponding to the at least one image; replace a second portion (b2) of the second element (b) of the at least one image other than the first portion (b1) with the second key (k2) corresponding to the image; and compose the first element (a) of the image, the encrypted first portion (b1?) of the second element (b), and the second key (k2), for at least every one image to generate encrypted data. An apparatus (16-2, 17-2, 70) for decrypting which decrypts the encrypted data generated by the encryption apparatus is also disclosed.
Abstract: Data replication systems and methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises at a system controller of a disk device, receiving data at a system controller of a removable cartridge storage device, transferring the data to a first portable data cartridge and transferring the data to a second portable data cartridge. The first and second portable data cartridges are electrically coupled with the system controller and removably coupled with the removable cartridge storage device.

Abstract: A method for retrieving based on a search term together with its corresponding meaning from a set of base documents those documents which contain the search term and in which the certain search term has the certain meaning to enable the building of an index on the retrieved documents. The method includes searching for those base documents among the set of base documents which contain the certain search term and evaluating the found base documents as to whether the search term contained in the found base documents, respectively, has a certain meaning. Evaluation includes generating a text document to represent elements surrounding the search term and their corresponding absolute or relative position with respect to the search term; inputting the text document into a trainable classifying apparatus; classifying the inputted text document to judge whether the search term has the inputted meaning.
