Abstract: A computer-implemented method of realizing an associative memory capable of storing a set of documents and retrieving one or more stored documents similar to an inputted query document, said method comprising: coding each document or a part of it through a corresponding feature vector consisting of a series of bits which respectively code for the presence or absence of certain features in said document; arranging the feature vectors in a matrix; generating a query feature vector based on the query document and according to the rules used for generating the feature vectors corresponding to the stored document s such that the query vector corresponds in its length to the width of the matrix; storing the matrix column-wise; for those columns of the matrix where the query vector indicates the presence of a feature, bitwise performing one or more of preferably hardware supported logical operations between the columns of the matrix to obtain one or more additional result columns coding for a similarity measure betw
Abstract: A cooling system for a machine is provided. The machine has an operator compartment, a front end, and an engine cooled by a first heat exchanger and mounted within an engine compartment. The engine compartment is positioned behind the operator compartment in relation to the front end. A fan is mounted within the engine compartment and has an inlet and a first and a second outlet. A second heat exchanger is fluidically coupled to the fan and the engine and mounted within the engine compartment. A first fluid flow path extends from ambient to the inlet. A second fluid flow path extends from the first outlet to ambient and extends through the second heat exchanger. A third fluid flow path extends from the second outlet to ambient and extends through the first heat exchanger, and is thermally isolated from the second fluid flow path.

Abstract: An n bit adder includes first computing circuit with 2n inputs for receiving n values of bits of first and second binary numbers and an additional input for receiving an input carry digit. The first computing circuit elaborates from each of the n pairs of bit values of the same significance, a carry digit propagating signal and diagonal generation signals. The adder further including: an estimating circuit performing a first estimation of each coefficient of the number resulting from the sum of the first and second numbers, by using the complement of the corresponding bit of significance of the first number; a second computing circuit, elaborating a set of correcting signals based on the propagating signals and the diagonal generation signals; a correcting block applying to each estimated value of bit of significance k of the sum, k+1 corrections using the correcting signals, and delivering n bits of the sum.
Abstract: The invention relates to an adjustable mirror, in particular to an outside mirror of a motor vehicle, with a hinge, which links a mirror support to a mirror base so that the mirror can be twisted about an axis of rotation. An elastomeric element is arranged between the mirror base and the mirror support and is form-fitted or bonded to the mirror support and/or to the mirror base and holds the mirror support in a first position. Compression elements are arranged on the mirror support and/or on the mirror base and compress the elastomeric element when the mirror support is moved from a first position into a second position.
Abstract: The exterior rearview mirror is comprised of a mirror housing, having at least one transparent light window, behind which at least one light is disposed, comprising at least one illuminant, whose light passes through the light window to the outside. In order provide the exterior rearview mirror so that different light functions and light directions can be performed by the light, at least a portion of the light is disposed adjustable.
Abstract: A work machine includes a machine cab and a machine work body. The work body includes an HVAC unit mounted below a floor of the machine cab. The machine cab includes an HVAC duct system configured to move with the machine cab and seal with the HVAC unit of the work body.

Abstract: The object of the invention is to provide a polyester composition that actively scavenges oxygen, with or without a transition metal catalyst. This was achieved by using a monomer selected from the group consisting of linear difunctional monomers having the general formula: X—(CH2)n—CH?CH—(CH2)m—X? wherein X and X? are each independently selected from the group consisting of OR and COOR, wherein R is selected from the group consisting of H and alkyl groups with one or more carbon atoms; and n and m are each independently 1 or more. The preferred monomer is 2-butene-1,4-diol (BEDO), and the preferred polyester is the reaction product of this diol with terephthalic acid to form poly(oxy-2-butene-1,4-diyloxycarbonyl-1,4-phenylenecarbonyl)—PBET. Copolymers of PBET are also within the scope of this invention. The polyester oxygen scavenging composition is then blended with conventional container resin such as polyesters, polyamides or polyolefins to make a container.
Abstract: The invention relates to blends of polyamides in polyesters, a method for forming such compositions, and to containers made from such compositions. Specifically the compositions have less haze and transparency than previous blends. The blends can be used as passive gas barriers, and/or active oxygen scavengers with the addition of a transition metal catalyst. The invention seeks to obtain balanced refractive indices for the polyamides/polyester compositions. A method to blend the copolyester and polyamides and orient the blend to minimize the haze, thereby forming an oriented article, is also described and claimed. These articles have excellent gas barrier properties.

Abstract: This disclosure presents an improved method for registering anatomical medical images and functional medical images. The example deals with the registration of x-ray computer tomography images with positron emission tomography images. The process is characterized by clinically useful registration with minimal computer calculations and minimal delay for computation. A nonrigid B-Spline free form deformation is used in both a preliminary coarse registration and the finished fine registration. Additional steps are used to insure accurate and complete registrations.

Abstract: The invention concerns an assembly comprising a flying balloon (100) and a tower (200). The balloon is captive and mobile in the tower. The captive balloon can ascend and descend along the tower with a limited wind intake or counterbalanced by the retention forces exerted by the tower, and can be flown up regardless of weather conditions without requiring a considerable and cumbersome stabilizing device. Such a balloon may be used as advertising sign and/or as an attraction.
